I always know what my skin will be like in the winter. It's so dehydrated that dry spots come out of nowhere, and my lips are a situation we won't even get into. It's literally that bad. In the spring and summer, however, it's a completely different story. In warmer months, I can be overly oily, causing my makeup to move how it may, and though I can appreciate the light tan that comes from the increased sunlight, my face being in danger of more frequent breakouts is just not ideal.
So, to adjust, I have to almost completely switch up my skin-care routine. My cleansers change, my serums change, my moisturizers change, and even my hair care changes. It used to be a growing struggle, but after all these years of trying to figure it out, I've almost got it. Many people, however, don't — and that's OK.
But not to worry, though, because while the change in seasons doesn't come with a manual, caring for your face through the intense temperature changes sure does. And while we know it's not the most convenient to do a 180 with the products you use and how you use them, slight adjustments must be made if you want your skin to truly flourish.
So ahead, check out the many ways you can get your best spring skin ever after a long and frigid winter. This may not be the fix for everyone, but it's pretty dang helpful.
