Beauty editor's favorite beauty products

As beauty writers and editors, we try a lot of products, and we can certainly say, all are not created equal. Whether it be skin care, hair care, or makeup, we're hypercritical about what we use, and through much trial and error, we've discovered our tried-and-true favorites. So while we're often asked, "What are your favorite beauty products?" the Revelist team has compiled a list of the beauty products that have completely changed our lives.

It wasn't easy, but here are some of the best out there.

Yuliana Delgado, Managing Editor: Kate Somerville EradiKate Daily Foaming Cleanser ($38, Sephora)

"This sulfur-infused daily wash has completely transformed my breakout-prone skin. The smell is not overwhelmingly sulfur-y, which would be a deal-breaker for me, and it has gotten my adult acne flare-ups under control."

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30 ($30, Sephora)

"This moisturizer is amazing. It's not too greasy, but keeps my skin perfectly hydrated without feeling heavy or goopy. Plus, it has SPF, so you don't have to worry about making that an extra step." —YD

Jenny Mero, Editor: Ponds Clarant B3 Normal to Dry Dark Spot Correcting Cream Face Moisturizer ($8, Target)

"My 66-year-old mom has amazing skin, so when she makes a beauty product recommendation, I listen. Within days of using the Pond’s Clarant B3, my husband asked if I had changed anything because my skin was glowing. What?! I was sold. I’m two months in and I religiously apply it daily. My skin looks so healthy and even-toned."

Meagan Fredette, Writer: Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream ($68, Drunk Elephant)

The Protini moisturizer has completely transformed my skin –– and spoiled me forever.  No other moisturizer I've found has a texture that's as soothing and elegant, and my skin adores the peptides and epidermal growth factors. Paying almost $70 for this moisturizer is a gut punch, but my skin thanks for me for it every day. -MF

Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Spray ($29, Amazon)

"My natural hair texture is as flat as a piece of paper, but the Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Spray has changed my life. That's not a hyperbole — it has changed my entire life. I was first introduced to this sea salt spray by Sheba Nemerosvki at Sparrow in Chicago, and have been using it for going on nine years. It gives me the beachy hair of my dreams, with a wavy texture that lasts for days. I've been using the Hair Resort Spray so long that there are people who have never seen me with straight hair, and I will take this product to the grave." —MF

Chloe Wilt, Writer: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17, Sephora)

"Once a month, right before my period, I always get one giant hormonal pimple on the tip of my chin that I so lovingly nicknamed Mt. Vesuvius. Other than that, my skin is for the most part crystal clear. That's why the Mario Badescu acne spot treatment is definitely my lifesaver during that testy time of the month."

Glossier Priming Moisturizer ($22, Glossier)

"I love putting on this moisturizer a few minutes before I start applying my makeup. Makeup tends to dry out my skin, so this moisturizer and primer in one from Glossier keeps my skin hydrated and looking flawless. I love how lightweight it is, so I can put it on in the morning without feeling oily or greasy." —CW

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater ($12, Ulta)

"Any time I start feeling my makeup get cakey or my skin feels tight, or maybe I just need a quick pick-me-up, I love to spritz rosewater onto my face. I usually try to pick the most simple brand for the least cost, which often ends up being Mario Badescu’s for only $7." —CW

Stacy Cousino, Copy Editor: Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara ($25, Sephora)

"I don't use many beauty products. Most days, I wear only mascara, and I love this one: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara curls my lashes, adds volume, and never clumps. Just a few quick flicks from the roots to the ends is all that's needed to transform my thin lashes."

Blake Newby, Writer: iS Clinical Active Serum ($135, Dermstore)

"There aren't many products that deliver immediate results, but this serum does. My skin tends to be acne-prone, but since I've started using this every night, the breakouts have decreased tremendously. I can actually feel it working — it tingles quite a bit— and I wake up every morning with visibly smoother and brighter skin."

Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Blurring Coconut Face Primer ($39, Sephora)

"This is my favorite primer hands down. From how smooth is makes my skin to its insane blurring properties, I can guarantee that my makeup will stay in place all day when I put this on." —BN

"Anyone that's ever used this knows exactly why I'm so obsessed. Not only is this deodorant easy to apply, it really does keep me fresh for hours. My favorite deodorant of all time." —BN
