Let's be real: Because of "Lipstick Gate," there are some who will always be skeptical of a Jaclyn Hill makeup release, even if it's a collaboration with another brand. So, of course, there were critics when we heard the news of the release of her second Morphe palette. So, as influencers are receiving their PR packages, they're rapidly taking to YouTube to review it.
What's the verdict? Well, you'll just have to keep reading to find out.
Concilio's video came with a little shade, but it wasn't toward Hill. Instead, it was toward Morphe. "I wanted to make a little statement since people are calling me negative in this video -- I really really was trying to give this an honest and thorough review," she commented under her video. "I was trying to take it seriously because I would never want to mislead you guys on any product. I told you all that I wanted to keep it more honest and real with you guys. I apologize if I did come off as mean or “different” in this video but there truthfully is nothing wrong. Morphe is a VERY inconsistent brand and that’s why I kept saying I was shocked. I haven’t used their products on my channel in a VERY long time. I wound up loving this palette and even recommended it to you guys."
Ravndahl gave the palette rave reviews. She even went as far to say that the palette is one of her favorites in some time. "I haven't enjoyed using a palette this much in a very, very long time," she said. "I'm stunned by how well those neon colors layer."
Now that is what we call a positive rating.
Unfortunately, this review wasn't as stellar as the ones before. However, Princess Kae didn't have to say it -- viewers could see it for themselves. After applying an eye shadow base, the yellow shadow appeared to be reacting, and not positively. However, she pulled the look together. "I want to go back and create another look with the palette before I give my overall judgment," she said.
If you're looking for a negative review, you surely won't find it here. "I know some of you are going to be like 'say something bad, say something negative,' but they blended easily, they were pigmented, the metallics were metallic, there was a normal amount of fallout," she said. "The only negative thing I can think of is there's not a mirror in here, but to me that doesn't matter. Also, it is a bigger palette so it is a little bulkier."

And another perfect review! "I'm really really impressed by the application. I feel like this is such a pretty just aesthetic -- everything overall. I'm going to give it 5 stars," she said. "I'm really impressed with Jaclyn Volume 2, so five stars for application."
Well, folks, it looks like the palette is worth it. However, don't put it over a creamy eye shadow base.
