For years, Pat McGrath lovers — including me — have been asking "When is Pat going to come out with a foundation?" Like come on, she's mastered just about everything else. From eye shadows to lipsticks, and most recently, mascara, the makeup OG surely knows a thing or two about products that actually work. Well everyone, the moment is near and trust me, it was well worth the wait.
But that's not all. Mother is about to launch an entire masterfully curated full-complexion system that will transform your skin for a filter-free finish in just minutes. I got to be one of the first to try and believe me, it's all worth every single penny. Never splurged on Pat McGrath Labs before? I feel ya but your foundation is worth investing in and this luxury complexion product is certainly a must-have.
This Sublime Perfection Primer ($60, Sephora) is the first step to iconic skin.
It smoothes, hydrates, and renews with a sublime silken effect that instantly turns back time on your complexion by preventing transepidermal moisture loss. With no silicon, there are no worries about breaking out your skin or clogging your pores. Also, believe me when I write that this is the best-smelling primer I've ever had on my face. It can be worn alone to masterfully blur imperfections and ensures a filter-free finish.
The Sublime Perfection Foundation ($68, Sephora) may not be classified as skin care but it might as well be.
This is the magic Pat McGrath has been secretly using on supermodels, pop stars, and more! Crafted with vita-serum complex, this foundation is "designed to help fight the formation of wrinkles by preserving the hydrolipidic film barrier of the skin and boost hydration by activating the natural production of hyaluronic acid and ceramides." Yes for skin care and makeup all in one bottle! Skin care needs definitely trump makeup so it's awesome to find a product that caters to both.
Available in 36 shades, these are the colors that McGrath says she's used over career of over two decades.
With five different shade groups, with varying undertones in each, I was overjoyed to find that my often hard-to-match skin tone found its fit. My perfect match is shade 24 to be exact. Applied with fingers, like mine was, the skin is left with lightweight coverage that's easily buildable for even more. Basically, I fell in love at first blend.
Sublime Perfection Setting Powder ($55, Sephora)
Now about this powder. I live for anything finely-milled, but this formula is completely next level. Unlike most powders, this one is buildable, so you'll never have to worry about looking overly cakey. Atop the already applied powder, one of PML's master makeup artists applied yet even more foundation. I'll admit I was worried at first, but after seeing the finished product, I was amazed. Plus, it comes in five different shades.
If you're not all about applying makeup with your hands like Mother, then these Sublime Perfection Foundation & Powder Brush ($55 & $58, Sephora) are what you'll want to snag with your new complexion system.
Of course, you need something to apply these genius complexion products with! If you're not getting handsy like Pat McGrath, then these cruelty-free, vegan and FSC-certified wood handled brushes are exactly what you need. And hey, it doesn't hurt that they're so darn gorgeous. The black handles with gold hardware are super on-brand for Pat McGrath. I'm definitely getting MatteTrance Lipstick ($38, Sephora) packaging vibes from these beauties.
