Dating in general can be pretty bad. But for plus-size women using online dating apps, there's a whole other, disgusting layer to the struggle.

It's not just pervs and general male fuckery — it's also trolls who hit you up just to say gross and hurtful things about your appearance. I know ALL women deal with disgusting messages and unsolicited dick pics, but I polled my curvy friends to find out the most common, not-OK dating messages they've gotten from men.

"I bet those chubby cheeks are great for blow jobs."

BLOCK.

"You must be an amazing cook."

Don't get it twisted — just 'cause I like to eat does not mean I like to cook. Also: THIS.

"Are you planning on losing weight?"

Are you planning on gaining some manners?

"You must be amazing in bed."

*Deletes Tinder forever.*

"I'm usually not into big girls but..."

ON TO THE NEXT.

"I love BBW."

Ew. Do not categorize me with porn site lingo.

"More cushin' for the pushin'."

RED FLAG: THIS MAN DID NOT GO TO COLLEGE. MAYBE DIDN'T GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL EITHER.

*Gets politely rejected* "You're fat anyway."

Boy, please! What makes you think you have a chance?

It can be really upsetting and even scary to receive some of these messages. You should know three things...

1.) You are not alone — this is happening to a lot of women.
2.) It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the pond scum who sent the message.
3.) Don't let it stop you from finding someone! Block, report, and keep it movin'.
