Everyone needs good basics, no matter their size. But finding a casual T-shirt or the perfect tank to layer underneath is not as easy as it seems for some people. Universal Standard, however, is seeking to change that with its new line, Foundation.

Universal Standard's Foundation line will come in sizes 00 through 40 for the first time ever. This is a big deal, y'all.

The brand's size chart – which generally focuses on the plus and curve market — already boasts a wide range of sizes, from US 6 through 32. But now it's extending the range in both directions, which is another major step for inclusivity.

This isn't its only inclusive innovation recently, either. A few months back, the brand also announced a "See It In Your Size" feature on the site, which lets shoppers see how certain items would look on their specific body type — something I think we all have been wanting and needing for far too long.

Its approach to inclusivity stems from how the brand was created in the first place. Basically, two friends, Alex and Polina, were discussing what to wear to an event. Alex told Polina that she had nothing to wear because none of the shops nearby sold her size. Shortly thereafter, Universal Standard was born out of that frustration, and it has been trying to eliminate the complications of shopping for your size ever since.

The new Foundation line is described as "a collection of 7 supremely soft, fit-first layering basics" for "ALL OF US. AS WE ARE." And since all of us need to wear clothes, the range truly does include all of us.

To announce the new collection, the brand posted a single image of model and body-positivity activist La'Shaunae Steward in a basic white tank, underwear, and socks. As a black plus-size model with a nontraditional body type (under 5'8" and over size 18), this was also a huge deal.

"This is the most powerful photo I have ever seen of myself and I couldn't be more proud," Steward said of the shoot.

Steward wasn't the only one ecstatic about the announcement. Reactions from fans of hers and of the brand are incredibly emotional about the collection and the campaign.

Commenters felt overjoyed seeing a body that looks like their own, or a body that's outside the norm of the vast majority of fashion campaigns.

It's clear this collection and the imagery accompanying it were desperately needed.
