Aidy Bryant is a plus-size queen who understands the struggle of other plus-size women, like trying to find clothes that fit your body and your style.
When the SNL star started her own show on Hulu, Shrill, it told an entirely new story about plus-size people that was both raw and authentic. Bryant's character, Annie, begins to tackle her own body insecurities, but being plus-size is only one of the many qualities that make Annie a dynamic and realistic character.
The actor has kept it real for her plus-size fanbase, and has decided to help out fans who admire her style. Pauline is a new fashion brand founded by the comedian and her stylist Remy Pearce, and the brand features three dresses in line with Bryant's easy, cool, comfortable style.
Bryant wore similar dress styles in her show Shrill, which was renewed for season two and will release in 2020.
The dresses are based on Bryant's own effortlessly cool style and pieces she's worn in the past. It's clear from a quick scan of Shrill's trailer that her character Annie would absolutely sport the Lovington dress. Shrill has been renewed for a season two on Hulu, but no premiere date has been announced.
The Lovington Dress in Blue (Pauline, $175)
The Lovington Dress in Stripe (Pauline, $175)
Bryant explained in a promotional video on the brand's website that she had a life-changing experience when she first found clothes that fit her body and style. When she had access to personal stylists and tailors who could customize a dress that reflected her personality and style, it was a feeling she'd never experienced in 25 years. Now she wants to provide that for other women, too.
The Lovington Dress in Gingham (Pauline, $175)
While the price is steep for one of these breezy shirtdresses, the brand is just starting out. After finding its place in the plus-size market, more options and, perhaps, more price points could become available. Until then, they are quickly selling out online and can be purchased exclusively at paulineny.
