Ariana Grande Has Done The Impossible And Made Crocs Cool
As one of the most followed people on Instagram with 164 million followers, Ariana Grande is no doubt a trendsetter. So much so that she recently filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 for using her likeness to try to sell products.
One trend that many celebs love — and not in an ironic sort of way — are Crocs, the ugly gardening shoes that hit a surge of popularity in the 2000s. Grande posted two photos wearing the rubber shoes, and now the brand is probably going to see a jump in sales.
Plus, fans got a peek at Grande's naturally short hair pulled up into a high half-up ponytail in the photos.
The superstar shared an adorable mirror selfie wearing white Crocs and socks.
Somehow, the 26-year-old looks cute and fashionable in the clunky style, whereas if I were to sport these shoes, I know I'd look like a 23-year-old baby. The singer posted this mirror selfie wearing an oversize sweatshirt, a crossbody bag, and hair clips in her half-up ponytail.
In the middle of her European tour, Grande has been visiting various countries and sharing snaps from places like Paris, Brussels, and London.
The pop sensation felt so cute in the style that she posted a second photo.
Grande acknowledged the hilarious choice of footwear in her caption for the second photo she shared wearing the rubber mules. She wrote, "Baby platypus," and that's exactly what the shoes look like. Despite the duck walk that is caused from wearing these shoes, Grande posed effortlessly and felt cute enough to share two separate snaps.
Grande and her best friend Courtney Chipolone wore matching styles while venturing through Europe together.
Grande's longtime bestie shared a photo of the two sporting the Crocs on her Instagram Story. Chipolone wrote, "Never been more sure about a purchase." Grande replied, "I feel … so whole … so seen." Chipolone has been touring with her pal throughout the European leg, and they've been sharing hilarious snaps and stories from their trip together.
Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and now Ariana Grande — it's clear that celebs love Crocs.
Post Malone has his own collection with Crocs that quickly sold out, plus he gives the brand a shoutout in his song "I'm Gonna Be." Justin Bieber is also known to wear a pair of the rubber clogs. Now that Grande has been seen wearing the shoe, the brand is experiencing a resurgence.
So it looks like we're wearing Crocs now. Everyone go buy a pair ASAP.
This tweet about sums it up … Grande is Regina George after all (at least in her "Thank U Next" music video). "I saw Ariana Grande wearing Crocs and socks, so I bought Crocs and socks," the Twitter user wrote. If the latest trend in footwear are these comfy and casual shoes, then I'm not complaining. Time to pull my Crocs out of my middle school storage box.
