Beyoncé is the queen of major musical surprises. We should actually be unsurprised by how often she delivers surprises. Got that? We've known this about her since she dropped her self-titled visual album, Beyoncé, in the middle of the night in 2013. Although she treated fans to the Mrs. Carter World Tour early that same year, the BeyHive hadn't heard new music from the pop star in at least two years because she was busy tending to her first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
It all changed with that first random midnight release of the LP, and since then, Beyoncé has continued her streak of unexpected content. After Beyoncé, came several more ta-da moments including her accompanying tour, the release of Lemonade in 2016, and the Everything Is Love joint album with husband Jay-Z.
Thankfully, the queen has decided that she isn't stopping with the shocking moments just yet! Just days ago she teased a Homecoming collaboration with Netflix. At the time, people could only assume that it would be something inspired by her iconic Coachella (or, ahem, Beychella) performance. (Psst... it was so iconic, in fact, that the music festival reposted her entire stage as a monument for this 2019 Coachella experience).
Of course, Beyoncé and Netflix had way more than that in store for fans! Now that it's been released, it's all people can talk about for more reasons than one. Beyoncé may be one of the most unpredictable of this generation, but we can always count on her to be a living legend who delivers something of quality that warrants her signature element of surprise.
