Pop icon Britney Spears ruled the 1990s and early 2000s with hit song after hit song. She was probably one of the most famous pop stars of her decade. Unfortunately, in 2007, she struggled with her mental health status and went through a series of situations that caused her to step away from her music and the public in general.
Spears was eventually able to get things back in order, and her career bounced back. She went on to release several more albums, including Circus in 2008, Femme Fatale in 2011, and more. Even still, her father, Jamie Spears, was appointed by courts as her conservator and has been responsible for her physical well-being and in charge of her finances since 2008.
In October 2018, it was announced that Britney Spears would be starting a well-deserved residency in Las Vegas called Domination. The residency was scheduled for the Park Theater at Park MGM starting in February. Spears announced the news live on the Ellen DeGeneres YouTube channel.
"I am so happy to be returning to my second home, Las Vegas," Spears shared. "I’m working on a brand-new show, and I’m so excited for my fans to see it! It’s going to be so much fun being back onstage, and I can’t wait to perform at Park Theater." This was her second residency, as her first took place in 2013 and was called Piece of Me.
Unfortunately, things have taken a turn, as Spears has reportedly checked herself into a mental health facility. Let's all send love and light her way as she tends to her health. Get more details about Spears, her latest career moves, and her mental health status in the video ahead.
