Cardi B has made her fair share of political rants over the years, but the most recent one has gotten her noticed by the Democratic Party. Her Instagram rant on the 35-day government shutdown caught people's attention all over the internet.

Now a Democratic group in Iowa has invited the rapper to speak at a "reception of her choice." Cardi hasn't decided whether or not she'll go, but she's been asking fans for their opinions. On Twitter, she asked her fans if she should, and it looks like they want her to go.

Cardi B has been invited to speak at a Democratic reception of her choice.

Members of a Democratic group in Iowa have asked Cardi B to speak at a reception in May. They feel as though she's become a leading voice of the Democratic Party.

They mentioned her in a tweet with several other "powerful women leaders."

In a tweet, the Polk County Democrats said that they have "been honored" to have female Democratic leaders such as Kirsten Gillibrand and Kamala Harris. Both of those women have also announced they're running for president. While Cardi hasn't said she's running for any office any time soon, the group feels that inviting her "only makes sense."

The group said they would like her to come to a reception while Cardi is in Iowa this May. However, Cardi doesn't have any tour dates set in Iowa.

Cardi doesn't seem sure whether or not she should go. She asked her fans if they'd help her out.

Cardi hasn't made a decision about going to Iowa, so she reached out to her fans. She retweeted the Polk County Dems, asking, "Should I?" Plenty of people are saying she should go, but other people have concerns.

Some fans feel Cardi would be mocked for her political opinion if she were to speak in Iowa.

You know, because some people don't think celebrities should have political opinions even though our president is a former reality television personality? People are saying that about Cardi. It doesn't help that her accent is heavy, and elitists like to use that as an excuse to say she's uneducated.

Cardi clearly got a lot of attention for her latest political rant.

The latest instance of this is that video on Trump's border wall. She doesn't think it's right that the IRS and other government workers had to work without pay during the 35-day shutdown. She said that someone had to take "some kind of action," even though she wasn't sure what that action was.

The shutdown is temporarily over now that Trump agreed to open the government back up for three weeks while he works on ways to "secure" the southern border. The shutdown may resume on February 15.

Two Democratic U.S. senators even contemplated sharing Cardi's video in agreement with her.

Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut went back and forth on Twitter with each other trying to figure out if it would be appropriate of them to share Cardi's video about the shutdown. They agreed with what she had to say, but they weren't crazy about her word choices. In the end, they decided not to share the video because it "wouldn't be senatorial."

Then Republican Tomi Lahren chimed in.

Lahren is a young Republican TV personality who's infamous for her staunch conservative political views. She tweeted about Cardi's video and called her the "latest genius political mind."

Cardi fired back and dragged Lahren for filth.

In what was probably the tweet heard around the world, Cardi fired back at Lahren with a simple and short tweet. "Leave me alone I will dog walk you" was enough to make Twitter go crazy. Lots of people wanted to see this dog walk happen.

Cardi even called Lahren out for racism.

Lahren has criticized things like Black Lives Matter and Obamacare, so she's been called a racist on more than one occasion. Cardi called her out for still being a "sheep," because she supports President Trump regardless of the shutdown.

Of course, Lahren responded to the whole thing. Again.

Because the tweets got so much attention, Lahren has been talking about the tweets with Cardi for a while. She even spoke about it on her own show.

A Democratic politician from New York then stepped in.

Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a splash in the political world last November for winning a house seat representing the 14th congressional district against an opponent who was projected to win by a landslide. She grew up in the Bronx, like Cardi, and had a few words on behalf of women from their neighborhood.

This is not the first time Cardi has spoken up about the government.

In this video from almost a year ago, Cardi wants to know what's going on with her tax money. She says she gets 40% of her income taken out in taxes and wants to be updated in some way about what happens with that money.

In this video, she tells people who borrowed money from her in 2017 to hold onto it until the next year.

Like we saw in that previous video, Cardi pays a lot in taxes. She's trying to keep as much as she can, so she sent out this PSA at the end of 2017.

Cardi's political stances are also why she turned down a chance to perform at this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

Cardi didn't perform at the Super Bowl this year in support of Colin Kaepernick. She reportedly said it was a hard decision, but decided against the performance because of how the NFL reacted to Kaepernick's and other players' protests.

“My husband, he loves football. His kids play football. It’s really hard for him… He really wants to go to the Super Bowl, but he can’t go to the Super Bowl, because he’s got to stand for something,” Cardi told the Associated Press on Friday. “You have to sacrifice that. I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. But there’s a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him.”
