It's no secret that there are very few clothing options for plus-size bodies.

Whenever designers do actually make clothes in larger sizes, they tend to steer away from "unflattering" colors. Aka, everything comes in black. Womp, womp.

But "This Is Us" actress Chrissy Metz doesn't buy into the "black is best" BS. Although plus-size women are often told to stay away from bright colors, Metz drapes her body in a rainbow of shades

When it comes to color, Metz isn't afraid to push the envelope.

See, for example, this bright and color-blocked look she recently wore while out and about in New York City. We stan an unapologetically vibrant style icon!

All too often, plus-size women are dressed in "safe" neutrals...

But not Metz! She's taken just about every fatphobic fashion "rule" and thrown in right out the window, which is really what the rest of us should be doing. Bland neutrals? No, thank you. Metz will take a bold blue and pink number instead.

...but Metz has no time for silly fashion "rules."

You don't think plus-size women should wear bright patterns that attract eyes? Too bad! Honestly, get with the program. Metz proved in this paisley dress that she can and will wear anything she likes — and she'll look great in whatever that is.

Her bright wardrobe turns heads!

“When I started promoting 'This is Us,' I was worried about how things would photograph, but I slowly gained confidence,” she told People Magazine last year. “I love bold colors and prints now." Wow, can we please borrow just a fraction of her confidence?

Metz clearly has a soft-spot for electric blues.

And they have a soft spot for her right back. They really bring out the hue of her green-blue eyes, all the more reason to keep rocking the heck out of this head-turning color.

Seriously, she practically lives in bright blue.

Remember this sweet and lacy A-line dress she wore to one of her recent appearances? We'd wear it anywhere — the store, the club, around the house — it's objectively perfect.

But she'll never say no to emerald green.

She's worn this equally stunning slash flattering color on many occasions, and we can't decide which of these colors we prefer on her. Screw it, we love both equally.

We truly can't handle how her skin tone popped against this deep, muted green dress.

Porcelain, much? Wearing emerald green will do that to you if you're pale. The wrap cut and A-line drape of this dress were also to die for.

This similar fall-friendly number also made us swoon.

So much color! Leave it to Metz to rock an outfit that's just as classy and understated as it is attention-grabbing.

This gown!!! We die!!!

If we could travel back in time and go to the high school prom all over again, we'd definitely opt to wear this deep blue-tinted emerald gown rather than our original choice.

That being said, emerald isn't the only shade of green she likes to wear.

At this event, Metz opted for a playful mid-length dress (or jumpsuit?) in what we can only describe as a muted pastel green, which we didn't think was even a thing.

Metz is a literal fire emoji in red.

She's a certified professional at matching her vibrant red hues to her lipstick. We give major props to her makeup artist for that. Imagine having a matching lipstick for every dress you owned. Ugh, we wish!

We dare you to find a cuter way to wear bright red than this one.

Something about this outfit's tied waist and strap-y ballet flats is just so dang cute. It's the perfect melding of Metz's sweet personality and edgy fashion sense.

Her red latex dress was next level.

“People were up in arms, ‘There’s a big girl in latex!’" Metz recounted to People after she stunned the MTV Movie and TV Awards in this latex number. "I was surprised, because it was a baby-doll silhouette I’d worn before, but everyone thought it was taboo."

As was this rich, patterned look.

We need just one more moment to appreciate Metz's taste in shoes. She's worn so many pairs of strap-y black ballet flats just like these, and we've just got to know where we can snag a pair. They look so comfy!

The cutouts on this deep red dress were the perfect touch to an already amazing piece.

Oh, and so was that subtle sheer panelling at the front. This is another one of those deep colors that just makes her skin's undertones radiate.

She looks downright elegant in navy.

And this is coming from people who would 100% pick black over navy on any given day.

It's safe to say that heads will turn any time Metz is spotted in this color.

This particular red carpet gown made everyone swoon with its tiny cutouts and shiny, silk texture.

Metz can even pull of all-denim at what most of us would consider a black-tie event.

That's right — this dress is entirely made out of denim, and Metz still pulled it all the way off on a red carpet. That detailing at the neckline, tho!

Metz can't get enough of romantic, lacy designs.

And neither can we. Also, there goes those shoes again! Seriously, where do we get a pair of those? We're positive she owns them in every color.

She turned up the heat in this velvety purple gown.

This is also on our top picks for reliving our high school proms. She wore this before velvet became all the rage, by the way. She doesn't just predict style trends, she starts them.

When she can add sparkles, she adds SPARKLES.

I'm sorry, but Veronica Lodge who? The Riverdale character has worn many a glittering gown, but none of them hold a flame to Metz's take on the look.

Metz singlehandedly proves plus-size bodies can slay busy patterns.

Plus-size women are warned not to wear bright patterns more than anything else, and Metz cleary does not care one bit what style "experts" have to say about that.

She loves a good A-line skirt, but she always makes sure hers have a twist.

We'll never get over this bold red and pink pattern Metz once wore on a Hollywood red carpet. She paired, of course, with her edgy go-to flats.

This bright head-to-floor pattern shattered every misconception about plus-size fashion.

"Being a big girl, you want to hide sometimes," she explained to People. "But with [pattern dresses], it's like ‘Boom! I’m here, in all my embroidered glory.'”

Hell, she wore a ~literal rainbow~ to last year's Critics' Choice Awards.

Whoever it was that said vertical stripes don't look good on plus-size women was clearly full of it. Metz, on the other hand, knew not to pay mind to naysayers. It paid off.

She's the colorful style icon we desperately needed.

Curvy women are constantly forced into basic and boring wardrobes by societal standards that simply shouldn't exist — luckily she and other plus-size celebs are knocking down those fat-shaming body standards in every way.

Moral of the story here is that you just can't compare to Metz's long resume of iconic fashion moments, so don't even try.
