It's no secret that there are very few clothing options for plus-size bodies.
Whenever designers do actually make clothes in larger sizes, they tend to steer away from "unflattering" colors. Aka, everything comes in black. Womp, womp.
But "This Is Us" actress Chrissy Metz doesn't buy into the "black is best" BS. Although plus-size women are often told to stay away from bright colors, Metz drapes her body in a rainbow of shades.
All too often, plus-size women are dressed in "safe" neutrals...
But not Metz! She's taken just about every fatphobic fashion "rule" and thrown in right out the window, which is really what the rest of us should be doing. Bland neutrals? No, thank you. Metz will take a bold blue and pink number instead.
...but Metz has no time for silly fashion "rules."
You don't think plus-size women should wear bright patterns that attract eyes? Too bad! Honestly, get with the program. Metz proved in this paisley dress that she can and will wear anything she likes — and she'll look great in whatever that is.
Her bright wardrobe turns heads!
“When I started promoting 'This is Us,' I was worried about how things would photograph, but I slowly gained confidence,” she told People Magazine last year. “I love bold colors and prints now." Wow, can we please borrow just a fraction of her confidence?
Her red latex dress was next level.
“People were up in arms, ‘There’s a big girl in latex!’" Metz recounted to People after she stunned the MTV Movie and TV Awards in this latex number. "I was surprised, because it was a baby-doll silhouette I’d worn before, but everyone thought it was taboo."
