If you're going to talk about Demi Lovato, make sure you pay very close attention to the words you use because she will have no issues calling out problematic language.

Case in point: This recent Inquisitr article with a headline that suggests Lovato has a "fuller figure" these days, referencing paparazzi images in which the singer was seen leaving a juice bar and grabbing a post-workout smoothie.

Always the queen of clap backs, Lovato quickly took to Instagram to address head-on the article in question. And let's just say that she taught everyone a valuable lesson about speaking about other people's bodies (hint: Don't do it).

So what's Demi Lovato been up to lately?

The 26-year-old singer has been maintaining a relatively low profile ever since she checked into rehab last year. In January, she celebrated six months of sobriety, which is an incredible milestone to reach. Although we sadly haven't gotten any new music from her just yet, she has been keeping busy in lots of other ways.

She's been killing it on the jiu-jitsu mat.

Just last week, Lovato shared that she earned a new ranking in the martial art. She now has a blue belt in jiu-jitsu, which probably means you don't want to get on her bad side anytime soon. On Instagram, she showed off her new accomplishment with a photo of her after practice. She captioned it: "Sweaty, messy jiu jitsu hair.. #BJJ #bluebelt #nevergiveup."

Lovato is a certifiable baddie.

She's so strong that she recently knocked out her coach's tooth during what was apparently a super-intense training session.

On Insta, she wrote: "Holy s*** I literally knocked @jayglazer’s tooth out during training this morning - while he was wearing a mouth piece!!!! Hahahahaha sorry (not sorry) Jay!!! So coach, when’s my first fight?!"

In other words: Do. Not. Come. For. Her.

When she earned her blue belt, she shared photos on her Instagram Stories to commemorate the major achievement.

"This means the world to me, and I couldn’t be happier," she said about her accomplishment. “Brazilian jiu jitsu is a passion of mine, and I can't wait to learn more and more.”

But some people just never learn.

The online publication Inquisitr recently wrote an article about Lovato that made comments about her physical appearance. The headline was particularly cringeworthy: "Demi Lovato Appears To Have A Fuller Figure After Working Up A Sweat In LA."

Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for Lovato to address the article herself.

On Instagram, the singer made her point loud and clear.

"I am more than my weight," she said next to a screenshot of the article. She continued to share her feelings on the issue with a few additional slides on her Insta Stories. "Unlike the past, I'm not triggered, I'm upset that someone wrote a headline about my 'fuller figure.'"

She pointed out that writing headlines about people's bodies just isn't cool.

"I'm angry that people think it's okay to write headlines about people's body shapes," Lovato continued. "Especially a woman who has been so open about being in recovery from an eating disorder. I'm not upset for myself but for anyone easily influenced by the diet culture."

Lovato explained that such language can be harmful.

"Articles like these only contribute to that toxic way of thinking," she said.

She then advised fans to ignore articles and headlines that engage with and use problematic language. "If you're reading this: Don't listen to negative diet culture talk. You are more than a number on a scale. And I am more than a headline about my body."

The reporter has since updated the article after exchanging DMs with Lovato.

Fabio Magnocavallo added the following note to the original article: "Firstly, a sincere 'Thank you' to Demi Lovato for her grace and patience in our exchange. While I wrote this story with the best of intentions, I totally appreciate and understand her perspective on the matter and culture in general and I truly appreciate her taking the time to have a dialogue with me about it. As Demi said to me, 'our voices are all we have to create the biggest change on this planet.'"

In conclusion: If you come for the queen, you best not miss.

After Lovato and the reporter had a chance to discuss the article, she told her fans to "be nice" after Magnocavallo shared that he was "a little shaken" by the reaction people were having. "I appreciate your support but he learned a lesson and we never respond with hate, only love."

We stan a forgiving legend.
