Bella Thorne wearing a bikini might not make headlines now, but that wasn't always the case. The star once found herself in hot water for sharing a photo of herself in a "sexy" bathing suit.

Thorne revealed on "Under the Influence" that one bikini didn't sit well with Disney execs.

“I almost got fired,” Thorne revealed in the interview. “Someone took a photo of me in a bathing suit. Yeah, it was a sexy bathing suit. It’s black. It’s got a little bit of fun little lace underneath. My mom picked it out. It was cute.”

Disney reportedly threatened to fire her over the photo.

"They said, 'you're lucky Bella has such a fanbase that we can't afford to fire her at this moment in time,'" Thorne revealed. "'But if she does one more other thing, we will."

Thorne stayed on with the Disney channel for a year and a half after the experience.

"The reason that we took 'Shake it Up' really in the first place was because we were about to be living on the street," she revealed. "So it wasn't really a choice there — though I did get off the channel at 15 and a half, so it wasn't even really that long of me being on it."

Thorne is far from the first star to slam Disney.

Demi Lovato called out Disney Channel for making a joke about eating disorders on "Shake it Up" back in 2011, while Rowan Blanchard called out the stifling culture at Disney:

“I worked for a corporation for four years that is known for silencing and crafting your voice, so with that I just had to very much stand my ground and separate myself, which I think I did,” Blanchard said in an interview with W magazine. “It’s nice now because now people don’t really recognize me from the show, they recognize me from my activism, which has been very comforting.”

For Thorne, it seems to have all worked out for the best.

She's starring in "Midnight Sun" alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger, and "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan" with Kit Harington, Natalie Portman, Jacob Tremblay, and Kathy Bates. Looks like that one bikini photo didn't do much damage to Thorne's career at all.
