Elle Fanning had a frightening fainting spell at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday night.

The actor is one of the jury members of the festival and is attending with her sister Dakota, who will star in the upcoming highly revered Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The young actor has been seen in a slew of projects recently, and has even more in the works. Elle will be in the long-awaited Disney film Maleficent, is in the upcoming Woody Allen flick with Timothée Chamalet and Selena Gomez A Rainy Day in New York, plus a coming-of-age romance with Justice Smith All The Bright Places.

Fanning wore a 1950's Prada dress that was "too tight."

The actor is a member of the Cannes Festival jury this year, an honor that allows her to be a part of the secret ballot that votes on the festival's best feature film.

At the star-studded Chopard Trophee dinner, Fanning fell from her chair while the festival director was speaking, according to Variety. Apparently, a few eyewitnesses noticed some A-list actors, Colin Firth and Marion Cotillard, who were seated at her table were alarmed at the actor's fall.

The 21-year-old blamed the collapse on her tight vintage Prada gown and that "time of the month."

Thankfully Fanning's sister Dakota was seated next to her, and the two were able to leave quietly. Elle shared a thumbs-up selfie to Instagram captioned, "Oops, had a fainting spell tonight in my 1950’s Prada prom dress but it’s all good!! #dresstootight #timeofthemonth."

While her tight dress played a role in why she passed out at the event, she also blamed her period. Fainting is a normal symptom of periods in some women, according to Self. Liz Goldywn founder of The Sex Ed podcast commented on Fanning's post, "Awww we’ve all been there! #timeofthemonth"

Some of the actor's friends commented supportive messages.

Most likely in attempt to ease the star's embarrassment at the situation, her friends brushed off the fainting spell with some friendly comments.

Model and activist Adwoa Aboah remarked that the actor was still the "best dressed woman ever though!!!!" Actor January Jones played off the actor's collapse and commented, "Where’s your smelling salts when you need em??" To which Fanning replied, "amen!" Sabrina actor Kiernan Shipka wrote, "you're a literal icon."

Fanning's sister, Dakota, was there to make sure Elle was all right, and the two were whisked away by security.

The famous duo are obviously close, and have both been in the spotlight at different times in their lives. Dakota was featured in numerous films as a child star and again in adulthood, now she's made her directorial debut in a short film Hello Apartment

The two are very supportive of each other's careers, and Dakota attended the French film festival with her sister. In this post from Dakota in early April she wrote, "Find someone who looks at you like @ellefanning looks at me, and I look at warm pretzel bread."

Elle stepped out the next day and looked like she made a full recovery.

The Fanning sister was spotted outside her hotel the following day wearing a slightly less constricting outfit and still looked polished following the scare. She wore a knee-length matching dress and jacket with embroidered blue bows and strap-y red kitten heels. The Cannes jury member wasn't going to let her pass out hinder the rest of her festival experience.

Fanning is no stranger to over-the-top fashion, but passing out from a tight dress crosses a line.

Fanning has been a cover girl on countless magazines, walked in fashion shows, and attended the Met Gala. At all of these fashion forward events she has worn extravagant looks, but a too-tight dress is what contributed to her collapse. Moving forward, hopefully the fashionable star finds comfortable and stylish looks to show up in.

Fanning certainly didn't let it get her down — she attended the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood red carpet shortly after her unfortunate fall.

The fashionable star looked like the ultimate Parisian fashion icon at the Quentin Tarantino film premiere the following night. She wore a sheer white blouse with a full skirt and a wide brimmed black hat. The film is about old Hollywood and stars Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt.

Dakota was also there for the film's premiere.

Dakota Fanning, who also stars in the film, attended its premiere. The sisters celebrated the film by walking the red carpet, and attending the festival together. Dakota shared snaps of her blush Armani floor-length gown to her Instagram story.

Speaking of her sister, Elle also just shared this adorable throwback photo for Dakota's birthday.

Dakota was made famous from her roles in films like Uptown Girls, Sweet Home Alabama, and The Cat in the Hat. This look at the famous sisters together shows their childhood stardom didn't effect the relationship they had.

"Cody is 25 today. We celebrated together last night and are continuing to celebrate all day today!! I feel most complete and most at ease when you are home with me. Here's to many more years of making "pallets" on the couch and watching our shows. ???? I love you so much. Halfway to 50 ???? #childrenofthecorn????"

Dakota shared this shot from her sister's 21st birthday that proves she is always there for her sister.

It's no surprise that Dakota jumped to action to help her sister in that moment of crisis at the Cannes event. In this birthday shot, Dakota shows that she's always there to lend a helping hand. She captioned the 21st birthday post, "I will always be there to zip up your dress (and maybe hold your hair back tonight ???? just kidding!!) and help you in every way I can. I LOVE YOU!"
