Reality stars rarely evoke actual sympathy out of the general public, but this latest development in the family saga that surrounds former child beauty pageant star Honey Boo Boo will hit you right in the feels.

Following Mama June Shannon's dramatic weight loss, Entertainment Tonight sat down with the mother/daughter duo to discuss life after surgery and their relationship with Honey Boo Boo's father, Sugar Bear.

To recap: Shannon's ex-husband Sugar Bear revealed on "Celebrity Marriage Boot Camp" that he was cheating on her and it inspired her to kick him to the curb, get a new crib, and undergo gastric bypass and cosmetic surgery.

As a result, Sugar Bear has hardly been in the family's life.

And when asked about her relationship with him, Honey Boo Boo revealed that the little one they do have is actually pretty toxic — considering her own father has allegedly fat-shamed her several times.

"He calls me every once in a blue moon, so if there's a blue moon outside, he's going to call me," the 11-year-old told ET.

"The other day we were on the phone and we were talking about — I don't know how we got on the subject — but we were talking about something, and he was like, 'I need to cut my grass,' so I was like, 'Yeah, I'll come do it. I'm [going to] need a ride mower,' and he said, 'You're gonna need a push mower, 'cause it wouldn't hurt,'" she recalled.

She also noted it wasn't the first time this has happened, either. 

"I was more mad of the point that he said, because I didn't get this shape from not eating," she said. "The other day, I was talking to him again and he said it again."

Mama June, understandably, was pretty pissed. 

"[He said] 'It wouldn't hurt if you lose weight,' and I think that was the most ignorant thing that he ever told her," Shannon interjected. "I would never say that."

While this whole family has complicated relationships with their bodies, one thing is for certain: Shaming never does anyone any good.
