Jennifer Aniston was spotted sliding into the comments section of her ex John Mayer's Instagram Live, and fans are living for it.

We're all spending a significant amount of time on social media, and Aniston is no exception. John Mayer went Live to give his fans and followers a taste of his Current Mood on his so-named talk show. In one segment, Aniston left a few emojis for Mayer that had fans of the mid-’00s couple reeling.

Honestly, who hasn't thought about reaching out to an ex. We're all a little lonely, and maybe Aniston was just trying to say hello. The two are on amicable terms and dated more than a decade ago, so all in all this was totally harmless.

John Mayer was talking about the recent passing of music legend Bill Wtihers.

Withers influenced much of Mayer's music, he revealed. The singer was getting sentimental, but still kept up his sardonic sense of humor. "EVERYTHING Bill Withers said was useful... 4% of what I say is useful," Mayer said. Aniston commented on his Instagram Live with three laughing emojis in response.

The A-list couple dated in 2008–2009, after Aniston's highly publicized divorce from Brad Pitt.

Aniston and Mayer dated for a year starting in 2008. After their split, Aniston revealed that there was no hard feelings. In a 2008 Vogue interview, Aniston said, "We care about each other. It's funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize, We maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. It's painful. There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that's where it is."

Some thought Aniston was roasting her ex in the comments.

Were the three laughing emojis commented with malicious intent? Some Twitter users thought so. "Never miss an opportunity to roast," one person replied to Mayer's video.

Others are suggesting, however, that she was just laughing at his self-deprecating humor.

Aniston and Mayer have been in contact since their split and seem to be friends. Surely, she was just laughing along with his self-deprecating joke. ET wrote, "Jennifer Aniston is still laughing at John Mayer's jokes 11 years after breaking up."

Perhaps Aniston, like many of us, is bored in quarantine and caving by reaching out to her ex.

It's been a bit of an ongoing joke on social media that we're all reaching out to our exes. When you're stuck in the house bored with no one to talk to, the temptation can be too much. Dana Schwartz retweeted the City of Chicago's simple tweet, "hey," and wrote, "EVERYONE IN QUARANTINE: THEIR EXES:"

Aniston has been dealing with the quarantine like the rest of us.

Aniston shared with Jimmy Kimmel in his late-night show segment that she's been keeping busy by cleaning vehemently and keeping in touch with friends virtually. The actor is new to Instagram, so maybe she didn't even realize that her comment would be public.
