Khloe Kardashian has a long, sad history of body shaming — especially herself.
She's constantly putting down her "old" body in an effort to highlight how great her "new" one is. She's repulsed by the term "plus-size," and her new show coming to E! on January 12 encourages participants to lose weight solely to get revenge on their haters (not for, you know, reasons like health or self-love).
Now Khloe has taken it upon herself to build the "perfect Kardashian" by comparing her sisters' physical attributes, feature by feature.
But this "fun" reimagining is problematic for so many reasons.
According to Khloe, the ideal Kardashian would have Kylie Jenner's piercing eyes and sculpted brows.
"Kylie has great eyes and eyebrows," Khloe wrote.
Kendall Jenner would lend her "super cute nose."
But of course, Khloe had to point out that Kendall "hates" her nose:
"She hates it, though, which I think is crazy," Khloe added.
Khloe said she loves Kim Kardashian's mouth and hair, adding not one but *two* Kim K. features to the futuristic Kardashian.
...but wasn't it Kylie's mouth that ignited the viral Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge sensation?
And Kourtney Kardashian's chin rounds out Khloe's creation.
"I think Kourt has a really good chin," Khloe concluded. "Her jawline — I like that whole thing."
Missing from the equation? Khloe herself, who evidently feels that she doesn't have a feature worth contributing.
Khloe leaving herself out of the "perfect Kardashian" mix isn't surprising, considering the fact that Khloe has always been exceptionally hard on herself. She recently condemned her former size-12 body ("God forbid!" she cried) to Shape magazine, revealing that she was once described as a "Honda" while her older sister Kim was compared to a "Ferrari."
To be fair, Khloe probably came up with this sister mashup because she desperately needed some content for her blog. But the post comes across as sad and self-deprecating.
She's slicing apart her sisters' features and pitting them against each other in pursuit of the "perfect face." But just because Khloe doesn't have Kim's lips (...or Kendall's nose... or Kylie's brows) doesn't make her own lips (...or nose... or brows) any less attractive or desirable.
Khloe is clearly used to being compared unfavorably to her sisters, but she took it a step further by then comparing her sisters to each other.
What Khloe needs to realize is that Kylie's features are 100% perfect for Kylie, and Kourtney's features are 100% perfect for Kourtney. Kim's features are what make her "Kim," and Kendall wouldn't be "Kendall" without her own physical attributes.
Each sister is beautiful in her own way. Why pick and choose (or take away) certain parts?
Their different features are what makes them, them.
Khloe, you're concerning us.
First, Khloe comes up with a weight-loss show that essentially fat shames people for the sake of impressing somebody else. Then, she's extra critical about her "old body" and compares herself to her sisters throughout her entire Shape interview. Now, she's dissecting her sisters' faces?
Khloe has good intentions — she really does — but if she ever wants to be a true beacon of body positivity, the constant comparisons need to stop.
