meredith blake the parent trap

If you grew up around the '90s and early '00s, chances are one of your favorite movies of all time is Disney's The Parent Trap. You LOVED it — but you viscerally hated its epic villain, Meredith Blake, the inappropriately young girlfriend who tries every trick in the book to prevent her boyfriend from reuniting with his wife and twins.

However, now that all of us are in our 20s or 30s and downtrodden by the harsh realities of adulthood, Meredith has become somewhat of an icon. We root for her now — utilizing your youth and beauty to land a wildly handsome (and caring!) older man with tons of money to boot? Get yours, girl, you do you.

In the film itself, Lindsay Lohan's twin sister characters despise Meredith and attempt to humiliate her at every turn — but a photo shoot from a couple years back proves Lohan also turned out to be just like Meredith. We're honestly here for it.

Someone on Twitter just resurfaced these photos of Lohan from her 2016 Vanity Fair shoot.

Yes, these photos are not exactly the newest — but Lohan still has similar blonde hair now as she does in this three-year-old shoot. The fact that these photos aren't brand-new didn't stop Twitter from noticing how similar she looks to a certain someone, either. Quite the opposite, in fact.

People CANNOT stop comparing new-wave Lohan to her mortal on-screen enemy Meredith Blake from The Parent Trap.

And can you really blame them? They've totally got the same old-Hollywood, "I'll hurt you and make it look like an accident" vibe, no? They both just seem like they've had yachts named after slash bought for them.

And that's not a bad thing!

You know, seeing as Meredith is a prime role model for young women who love money and men and hate children (um, hi). In recent years, fans of the film have been expressing how it should've treated her character better — admit it: At least part of you wants to see Meredith get what she came for.

You know what they say — you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.

"You either die as both twins in the parent trap or you live long enough to see yourself become Meredith Blake," this Parent Trap fan joked. And I can't deny that she's kind of right — what broke woman in her 20s hasn't contemplated giving up and marrying rich?

And if you really still don't like or relate to Meredith, you can at least revel in the irony of this whole thing.

Come on! Lohan has pretty much morphed into one her most iconic on-screen enemies! You cannot make this stuff up! I wonder what youngster Logan would've thought about her adult appearance when filming the movie. Probably would've gagged.

Or, if you're like this fan, you can contemplate new ideas for a reboot.

Wouldn't it be strange (but kind of great) to see a new Parent Trap installment in which one of the twins (COUGH COUGH HALLIE) grows up to become just the like almost-evil-stepmother she despised? And then the other had to bring her back to reality? Disney, call me is all I'm saying.

Overall, I'd still call it a glow-up.

If the woman you're being compared to — despite being frigid to children — is driven, gorgeous, and knows exactly how to get what she wants out of life, well then what's the harm? If someone compared me to Meredith Blake, I'd say thank you. Now, where's my sun hat and lipstick?
