Maya Hawke as Robin in "Stranger Things"

Some famous families have undeniably strong genetics — the Kardashians, Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava Phillippe, Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn — but one new face in Stranger Things had fans scratching their heads wondering how they recognized her.

Maya Hawke, who plays new character Robin in season three of Stranger Things, is a perfect 50-50 combination of her '90s heartthrob parents Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. The now-divorced couple, who met on the set of the 1997 sci-fi thriller Gattaca, had a highly publicized relationship during the peak of their fame. Thurman and Hawke share two children: Maya and her younger brother, Levon Roan.

After watching season three of Stranger Things, fans took to Twitter to share their shock at how much she resembles her famous parents.

Of course, most people look like their parents — that's obvious. But sometimes you come across a kid that is split so perfectly down the middle it's impossible to ignore, and that's how fans felt after seeing Maya as Robin in Stranger Things.

One person pointed it out on Twitter and paired it with shots of her famous parents, "i know she's their kid so it's to be expected but the degree to which maya hawke looks like a perfect amalgamation of her parents is downright spooky."

Maya's Robin has quickly become a favorite character in the series and made a great addition to the crew. In interviews she's often asked about the influence her parents have had on her acting career.

Lucky for the 21-year-old, her parents were already fans of the show and didn't hold back their criticism. Maya shared that her parents are "rigorous" with their commentary on shows they like and dislike. The critically acclaimed actors starred in popular films like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Volume 1 and 2, Training Day, and Before Sunrise. Maya told Sirius XM that despite Thurman and Hawke's fame, they felt like a relatively normal family.

Aside from the striking similarities between Maya and her mom's physical appearance, some fans noticed they had similar voices, too.

Not only are their looks the same, so are their voices. Luckily for Maya, her famous mom had some iconic roles that certainly wouldn't have dissuaded the Duffer Brothers from casting her in their nostalgic series. One person replied to the tweet pointing out their similar appearances with, "Her voice trips me out the most."

In this 1994 interview with Thurman promoting Pulp Fiction on David Letterman's late-night show, their similar sounds are clear.

A 24-year-old Thurman appeared on the late-night show and gave hints about the gritty Quentin Tarantino film. The old-school interview has a few bizarre moments including one in which Letterman attempts to create a psychic connection with the actor. Listen to Thurman's voice and compare it with her newly famous daughter's.

Before fans knew who Maya was, they had trouble placing how they recognized her.

Some Stranger Things viewers watched the series without realizing who Maya's parents were, and wondered why she seemed so familiar. One person out of many replied to the tweet comparing the three, "I kept thinking she looked familiar but couldn't figure out why! NOW I KNOW."

Ethan Hawke posted a proud dad moment on his Instagram of the young star's newfound success.

Hawke adorably captioned this promotional clip of his daughter, "Some of you may have missed her in last year’s BBC production of Little Women. Some of you may have missed her work at Juilliard. I know many missed out on numerous high school productions — heck I even missed a few and I’m her father. Some of you may know her music, some may not. But Ladies & Gentleman, get to know MAYA HAWKE. She’s the real thing. #StrangerThings."

Maya also appeared in Little Women alongside Big Little Lies actor Kathryn Newton.

This behind-the-scenes shot from the PBS Little Women miniseries is one photo that encapsulates the looks of both of her famous parents. Maya played Jo in the show, and Newton played younger sister Amy.

"Rivalry-chivalry-revelry Amy and Jo," the star captioned her post.

If you needed any further proof that Maya is actually just a clone, then feast your eyes on this side-by-side image.

People had hilarious reactions to the stars' uncanny resemblance. One person thought the actor reminded them of an optical illusion: "It's like an optical illusion where she looks like either Ethan or Uma depending on who you're thinking about."

Another envied the fact that she acquired the best-looking parts of both of her drop-dead-gorgeous parents: "AND SHE TOOK THE BEST FEATURES OF BOTH HOW [redacted] LUCKY."
