Former royals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are settling into their new lives in sunny Los Angeles. And while they didn't get to keep any of the Crown Jewels on the way out, our country's newest famous residents require a certain level of security. Somehow, Donald Trump has found a way to make this about him, and tweeted about it over the weekend — but Meghan and Harry shot down any drama from the clown-in-chief.

Heeeere we go.

In the midst of a global pandemic, Trump decided to tweet about Harry and Meghan's security costs. Apparently, Trump thought that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expected American taxpayers to foot the bill for their security — even though neither of them have publicly said anything of the sort. Where did this tweet come from? Who even knows.

Harry and Meghan are tired of rumors starting.

Harry and Meghan's camp shot down Trump's ramblings immediately. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made," a spokesperson told royal reporter Chris Ship. In other words, sorry, Cheeto, nothing to see here.

Meanwhile, they hung up their royal crowns.

Harry and Meghan said goodbye to their fans on their Instagram page. As they transition away from royal life, they're not allowed to use the term "royal" in their communications, so they won't be able to update their official Instagram page. Pour one out for @sussexroyal.

They posted a heartfelt farewell.

"Thank you to this community - for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world," they wrote on Instagram, adding that they recognize how "many issues...have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic."

... And they want to work on those "issues."

The Duke and Duchess are right — many issues have become painfully clear as a result of the pandemic, like healthcare, food security, and wealth inequality. In their lives, Harry and Meghan sound like they want to address those issues.

"As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute," they wrote. "We look forward to reconnecting with you soon."
