To put it bluntly, Twitter is trash. It's full of political rants, angry mobs of stans, and just straight-up negative nonsense. So, every glimmer of positivity in the Twitter void deserves to be highlighted, like this recent thread about celebrity encounters.

If you've ever met your hero(es), then you know not every encounter is a good one. But instead of focusing on the times celebrities let us down, Twitter user @Doug_Tilley wanted to hear stories of "when meeting your hero(es) lived up to expectations." People quickly filled his mentions, sharing their positive memories of famous folks, and the results are incredibly heartwarming. Be prepared to smile.

Twitter user Doug Tilley asked his followers to share stories of celebrity encounters that actually lived up to their expectations.

Needless to say, the thread was immediately flooded with adorable anecdotes from memorable interactions with celebs.

Many people had stories to tell about the legend herself, Carrie Fisher.

One user said, as a child, she and her family saw Fisher at a hotel, but she didn't believe it was her. "She came over, hugged me, and said, 'May the force be with you.' I was blown away." And there are plenty more stories where that came from. Basically, Fisher was a genuine beam of light.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Willem Dafoe are basically exactly how you'd expect them to be.

DiCaprio bought this man a shot after accidentally bumping him at a bar, and Dafoe is just the most polite human he's ever met. 10/10 would recommend.

One time Sarah Silverman saved a group of writers during a late-night session with a prick of a boss.

And Silverman even wrote back to this one! "I never remember anything, but I know exactly what you’re talking about," she said.

Bryan Cranston will strangle you for a photo if you ask.

And honestly, is there anything more wholesome than that?

You can basically hear Harrison Ford's voice in this story.

Hearing your hero tell you they're a fan of yours has got to be the most heartwarming thing to ever exist.

This story about Jon Chu, the director of Crazy Rich Asians, is definitely one of the most endearing.

Also, I would love to hear more about this Mean Girls pitch.

When I picture Dolly Parton, I basically see a fairy godmother.

And honestly, this story has not changed my mind one bit.

Taylor Swift seems like the kind of person who would be just as excited to meet you as you are her.

Case in point: This man said Swift called him beautiful when they met.

Apparently Kelly Clarkson hugs you tighter than your own mother, and somehow this warms my heart more than anything else.

"She hugged me tighter than my own mother does, complimented my glasses and my dress, and we had the best hour-long, emotional, heartfelt conversation of my career," one user wrote about Clarkson.

Yes, Danny Devito knows he is short and will most certainly make jokes about it.

"Are you looking at me because I'm short or because I'm Danny DeVito?" he asked this Twitter user while boarding a cab.

One look from Donatella Versace and the words "I believe you" are all this woman needed to follow her dreams.

As a teenager, can you ask anything else of your idol? Probably not.

To hear that the late, great Anthony Bourdain treated this person like an old friend when he first met them brings me to tears.

RIP to this warm and sincere man.

Honestly, this thread is what Twitter needed.

This is my official petition to have a positive viral thread like this at least once a week. Thank you and have a nice day.
