Shay Mitchell just announced her six-months-along pregnancy and is documenting the rest of the journey in real time on YouTube.

The Pretty Little Liars and YOU alum has been keeping the news a secret by posting up-close selfies on social media and wearing red-carpet attire that camouflages her baby bump. Now she's ready to share the process with her fans and followers. Her boyfriend Matte Babel also shared the news on Instagram with a sweet tribute to Mitchell and his future child.

The 32-year-old actor revealed in January that she had suffered a miscarriage in 2018, which makes the upcoming YouTube series even more personal. The videos will drop every other Wednesday starting on July 17.

The YOU star shared the happy news on Instagram with a joking caption.

"Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the carpool lane at all times now?" the actor wrote on this confident pregnancy photo. Mitchell's famous friends like Olivia Munn, Kelly Rowland, and Chanel Iman commented with messages of congratulations. Along with the Instagram post, Mitchell also uploaded a YouTube video that started trending on the platform.

Mitchell teased the news with a tweet, too.

"Today seems like a good day to post a YouTube video," she posted with a shushing emoji. The video that announces her pregnancy and details her progress has received 3.8 million views and counting.

In the video, Mitchell says that keeping the pregnancy a secret while remaining in the public eye has been one of the biggest struggles so far. Now that the news is out, she can proudly display her baby bump and celebrate with her friends and fans without fear of the secret being released.

The 32-year-old was vigilant in keeping the news private at first.

Mitchell released clips from various red-carpet events in which she already knew she was pregnant but wanted to keep it a secret. She sneakily wore outfits that cinched at the waist or had bright patterns and textures to distract from her forming bump. Having some stellar shapewear also helped keep her news a secret.

"Shoutout to double stick tape, spanx, and the village it took to put me together. And thank you @vanityfair for a fun night! #VFOscars," she wrote.

Keeping the bump a secret took some clever style choices.

In the video, Mitchell says she's ready to wear outfits that show off her pregnant belly as opposed to concealing it. Hiding her pregnancy has been a "lonely" journey, she said in the video.

While she'd normally wear oversize sweatshirts to keep the news a secret at the brand launch for celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta, Mitchell wore bright-pink feathers to distract from her growing baby bump.

"I opted for a very simple, understated flamingo vibe for @patrickta 's launch and I felt like it worked pretty well for the party palette. Not extra at all...," she captioned this post.

The actor is ready for motherhood — before the announcement, she shared some sweet and silly photos that proved her preparedness.

Babysitting went really well on this day, obviously. Mitchell posted this hilarious and disastrous photo with her friend's baby, "My weekend was great! How was yours?! #sorryifyouhaventhaddinneryet #eardrumsareblown#dontaskaboutmyhair," she wrote. While this photo highlights the unglamorous side of motherhood, Mitchell has also shared other pictures that prove she is excited and ready to be a mom.

Her boyfriend and the future baby's father, Matte Babel, shared a supportive tribute to his girlfriend.

Babel posted this selfie of the two of them during Coachella. While the couple has kept their personal life super private, they have been together for more than two years. In the upcoming video series, fans will get a more intimate look at their relationship and their journey to parenthood.

Babel posted one of Mitchell's photos from her pregnancy shoot and wrote, "Watching the both of you grow over the past 6 months has been the most beautiful thing in the world. The strength, vulnerability and grace you’ve had during this pregnancy has left me in awe, you’re going to be an incredible mom...We’re lucky to have you, love you."

Mitchell's YouTube series Almost Ready will debut on July 17.

Mitchell wanted to share this series as an open and honest look into pregnancy showing the fun, but also the difficult parts of the experience. "It didn't feel right to just put up a photo, and be like 'I'm pregnant,' and have people think it's just been peaches and rainbows," she said.

The actor wrote in a message along with the video: "There is something in the oven and it's not my pizza!!! WOW... It's kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you. It's exciting, nerve-racking, difficult and emotional all at the same time. Everyone waits for the right time to make the announcement and for me it wasn't until I couldn't hide it anymore and was tired of wearing over sized sweatshirts. We're beyond excited and looking forward to starting a family. I've learned so much about myself and parenthood over the past 6 months, and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface! It's going to be a wild ride!!"
