If you haven't heard by now, the Lizzie McGuire reboot has been put on hold indefinitely.

Sophie Turner is just as disappointed as we are, but this actor might actually have a solution. The Game of Thrones star took to her Instagram story to express her dismay that Disney had halted production on the beloved '90s show reprise.

So far, it's unclear why the show is in limbo, but some have speculated it has to do with the original Miranda actor LaLaine and her lack of involvement. Turner suggested, actually begged, to be considered for the role as Lizzie's BFF.

Of course, Turner was employing her witty British sense of humor and was obviously joking, but honestly I could see her in the bestie part.

Sophie Turner is just as devastated as we are that the Lizzie McGuire reboot was put on hold.

"So the Lizzie McGuire show has been put on hold. I'm obviously devastated like the rest of us, but I'm pretty sure, like, is Miranda appearing in this season? I'm here. I'm available. I am your new Miranda. Lizzie McGuire people please reach out to me at 3," Turner said in her Instagram story.

It's worth pointing out that this video came immediately after Turner jokingly bragged about walking past Leonardo DiCaprio at the SAG Awards.

Of course, Turner was only joking, but some fans took it to heart.

Some fans got a little heated that Turner volunteered to take on the role. First of all, no one could replace LaLaine in the iconic role. Second, the Game of Thrones star was clearly kidding. One person tweeted, "Dear, #SophieTurner you are not the original Miranda. So please don’t ask to be played as Miranda in the reboot. Original cast all the way!! #LizzieMcGuire ... You can be a new blonde white girl instead."

Before the season was put on hold, all of the original cast seemed to be ready and up for it.

Hilary Duff's on-screen family were all on board, as well as Adam Lamberg, who played Gordo, Lizzie's best friend and temporary romance. Everyone except LaLaine was confirmed, and now the season has been halted. It was especially disappointing for fans, because Disney had teased the reboot relentlessly on social media and in a 2020 teaser clip.

The season was expected sometime this year, but now the show is in limbo.

Hilary Duff posted a cryptic photo in front of Walt Disney Studios, leading some fans to believe that the show is back on.

In early January, though, a statement from a Disney spokesperson came forward, "Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series. After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show."

Apparently, the series' creator, Terri Minsky, had stepped away due to creative differences. But hopefully, this post from Duff is an indication that the show is back on track.

As for Sophie Turner, she's already got a full-time gig starring in Jonas Brothers music videos.

Turner may not be right for the part of Miranda, but it's OK, she has plenty of opportunity for screen time. Whether it be starring in Jonas Brothers' music videos or in the X-Men universe, Turner won't be far from screens for long. Now fingers crossed that we get LaLaine officially involved with the Lizzie McGuire reboot.
