PHILADELPHIA, PA — Just before her mother took the stage for the final night of the Democratic National Convention, Chelsea Clinton delivered an impassioned speech about pride and motherhood to the roaring crowd in the Wells Fargo Center.
"I'm here as a proud American, a proud Democrat, a proud mother, and tonight in particular, a very very proud daughter," she said.
Chelsea invited the audience to join her on a trip down memory lane, delivering a heartwarming ode to her "wonderful, thoughtful, hilarious mother's" role in her life.
Chelsea also applauded her mother's tireless efforts to helping people throughout her career.
"She never, ever forgets who she’s fighting for," Chelsea tearfully said.
In this historic moment, Chelsea said she couldn't be more proud of her mom.
"She’s a woman driven by compassion, by faith, by fierce sense of justice, and a heart full of love," she said.
"I'm voting for a fighter who never ever gives up, who believes we can always do better when we come together and we work together."
"I hope my children will someday be as proud of me as I am of my mom."
