Substantia Jones started The Adipositivity Project about 10 years ago to change society's view of fat bodies.
And what do you know? It's working. While we still have a long way to go, the world is more accepting of plus-size people (others, and themselves) than ever before.
Every December, Jones celebrates the culmination of another year's great work with a calendar, which features never-before-seen photos taken by Jones — of plus-size people in the buff.
This year Jones featured 12 gorgeous, curvy women (and one man) in her annual calendar (note: lady nipples below).
Many people associate nude photos with sex or even porn, but that's not Jones' (or her subjects') intention at all.
"I want everyone to make peace with their bodies, and to allow others to do the same with their own," she told The Daily Mail.
Jones makes sure to feature folks of different races, ages, and abilities. Her work is the ultimate in diversity.
Not everyone poses nude, but most do.
What's important, Jones said, is "altering commonly accepted notions of a narrow and specific beauty ideal."
It's "part fat, part feminism, part 'fuck you,'" she writes on her website.
