Krispy Kreme recently announced that they’ll be opening a 4,500 square foot retail location in the heart of Times Square. While it may not be the best time to open up a gigantinormous retail location anywhere in New York City, the donut brand has a plan. And I think it just may work. Revelist got an exclusive sneak peek inside the new store and it's a dream.
The location is right in the heart of Times Square.
Tourism may not be at its peak right now in the Big Apple, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming back soon (we hope). And also, there are plenty of us locals who would basically do anything for a warm Krispy Kreme donut. With its convenient location, I'm sure this will be a hit.
Plus, the store has instituted all the safety protocols around Covid that you’d expect.
The company has instituted all CDC recommended safety precautions, like health screenings for its employees, face mask for employees and guests, social distancing floor stickers, protective barriers where you interact with staff, and additional disinfecting throughout the shop. Plus, you can order donuts ahead of time for pick-up through Krispy Kreme’s website or their mobile app.
Oh, and the “Hot” sign is on 24-7.
Yes, you can get fresh, warm, melty Krispy Kreme donuts all day and all night. The world’s largest “Hot” sign lights up Times Square and tells everyone donuts are constantly hot and fresh. The store also has a convenient (and Covid friendly) street-facing pick-up window that also runs 24 hours, which is perfect if you don’t want to go inside and peek at the glaze waterfall and the other very social media friendly set-ups in the massive Krispy Kreme store.
But the main reason I’ll get myself in the near future to this utopia donut paradise?
It has a massive glaze waterfall that runs 24 hours, beautifully covering donuts in sugar as they pass under its stream. Is there anything more beautiful? The Times Square exclusive big apple donut is also a big draw; I had a taste and it's creme-filled, apple glazed yumminess.
Check out the new store, which opens September 15, at 1601 Broadway at 48th Street in the heart of New York City's Times Square.
