*Christmas shopping* "Should you buy those in a smaller size for when you lose weight?"
"I deserve to wear this right now and I love how it looks on me."
"Are you sure you want seconds?"
*SILENTLY GRABS POTATOES, NEVER STOPS PUTTING THEM ON MY PLATE*
"Are you dating anyone? Don't worry, men will be all over you when you lose weight."
"Do you want to talk about something that makes you uncomfortable now? Is that what we're doing here?"
*Brings thin date home* "That's YOUR boyfriend?"
"You sound surprised. Do you want to explain that?"
*Shows up in tight holiday dress* "Have you ever tried Spanx?"
"Nope. What kind of underwear are you wearing right now?"
*Complains about co-worker getting promotion* "Was she skinnier than you?"
"Out of respect for her and me, I'm not going to answer that."
"Maybe you should skip dessert?"
"Why? Is it bad? Is something wrong with mom's pie???"
"You should have these veggies that I cooked specially for you."
"Thank you! Put it right here on my plate, next to the mac and cheese."
Just remember! Anger is not the answer.
Some people can be enlightened or nudged into more polite behavior; others will never change.
Either way, speak up for yourself and know that their comments are really about THEM and have nothing to do with you.
