Pop star Halsey is firing back at haters over her natural hair. The singer has spent the past year wearing wigs and weaves as a protective style for her dyed and fried, short, curly hair.

And when Halsey decided to sport her curly fro, the internet could not mind its business for a single second, and went off on the 23-year-old.

But naturally (no pun), her response was perfect.

Halsey made waves when she completely shaved her head following the media's fixation on her long blue hair. The shorter style became her signature look.

The singer fried her hair after dying it, and has been trying to get it back into tip-top shape.

Like many Black folks do, Halsey wore wigs as a protective hairstyle.

Halsey is mixed race.

Halsey posted a photo sporting her stunning, curly hair with the caption, "New growth, new growth; all these fades I outgrew."

Sadly, hating on a woman's appearance is standard internet fare. Halsey's natural hair was met with some seriously needless negative commentary.

Some clueless trolls even accused Halsey of cultural appropriation. While the singer has been outspoken about being white-passing, her biracial heritage is apparent in her hair texture.

Halsey took to Twitter to defend herself. Let's just say, she was not pressed.

Fortunately, most fans were living for the 23-year-old's perfectly shaped afro.

Some even shared personal photos in solidarity.

Halsey had the last word on Instagram. She posted a photo of her younger self, natural curls and all, with the caption: "Stay mad."
