The past few months have been... stressful, to say the least. With all the chaos going on in the world, it's been hard to find a sense of peace. Recently, I decided to revamp my shower routine to try to treat myself and relax — even if it's just for a few minutes.
Since I absolutely love going to the spa, I tried to give myself a spa-like experience, complete with calming music and fruit-infused water.
After turning on the water, I popped a shower steamer into the base of my tub to fill the shower with a lovely eucalyptus-mint scent. Shower steamers are a great way to get some aromatherapy going!
Next, I wanted to focus on my hair. After using my normal shampoo, I applied this Found Beauty Thermal Clay Hair Mask. While the mask did its work (you have to leave it in for 3-5 minutes), I cleansed the rest of my body.
The Thermal Clay Hair Mask (which only costs $2.99!) is formulated to provide essential minerals and nutrients to hair, leaving it softer and smoother. Obviously it's been a while since I've been to a hair salon, so it was really nice to treat my locks with something more luxurious than my normal conditioner.
After my hair was rinsed, I moved on to exfoliation. I don't exfoliate very often since I have fragile skin, but every so often it's good to go in and buff off all those dead skin cells. First, I exfoliated my body using the Manna Kadar Sea Minerals Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub. Next, I exfoliated my face using this AOA Exfoliating Face Sponge and my normal face wash (Lancome's Creme Mousse Confort). Afterwards, my skin felt so soft.
As soon as I got out of the shower, I applied my Saturday Skin Bright Potion Serum. I followed that up with a light moisturizer before moving onto my hair.
Finally, before putting on my PJs, I slathered this amazing Dove Whipped Body Cream all over my skin. By the time I was done with everything, I felt more relaxed and at peace than I had in weeks.
Try turning your shower into a spa to relieve stress and get in touch with yourself!
