There are all types of ridiculous theories as to why people get acne: Wear too much makeup? Prepare for pimples. Wake up too late in the morning? Those pimples are all your fault.
Spend too much time with your phone against your face? Well, that's strike three.
You just caused your own acne, my friend.
The fact of the matter is, no one is immune to the occasional breakout — even celebrities.
While most stars try to hide their bumps and blemishes from the public eye, Bella Thorne has always been open about her perfectly imperfect skin. She frequently steps out sans makeup to show her fans they shouldn't be ashamed of a few pimples.
Unfortunately, her empowering posts are often met with criticism from skin "experts" who fire off a heap of reasons to explain why Thorne is constantly breaking out. They place the blame on her "lack of hygiene" and instruct her to take better care of her skin.
Thankfully, Thorne knows the idea that acne sufferers don't care for their skin is total BS.
To silence these ignorant trolls, Thorne decided to hop on Instagram to show her followers the great lengths she goes to for her skin.
Thorne recently documented her intense acne treatment on social media.
Fed up with the complaints that her "lifestyle" is causing her blemishes, Thorne set out to prove that she does *gasp* have a skin care routine.
“I’ve had a lot of people just say to me, ‘Why don’t you just wash your face?’ and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me right now?!'” Thorne told People last June.
On Monday, she headed to Dr. Jason Emer for a laser treatment.
"It's always a pleasure to work on such a beautiful face," Emer captioned this action shot on his own Instagram.
She admitted skin care isn't always "glamorous," but she knows she's helping others by showcasing her struggles.
“I’ve struggled with my acne a lot," Thorne previously told People. "I always post it on my Snapchat. I hope I help somebody out there because I’m spreading the word.”
Take that, acne bullies.
Thorne doesn't need your "expert advice" on how to properly care for her own skin. Between her Accutane treatments and her frequent trips to the dermatologist, Thorne is doing just fine.
