"Dear open minded, free speaking, laid back, life loving Aussies," the actor wrote on Instagram. "Marriage is about love and commitment and, in a country based on equal citizenship, it should be available to everyone! Vote now for marriage equality."

He added the hashtag #equality with the peace sign emoji.

Hemsworth reminded his followers that they must have up-to-date electoral details if they want their voices to be heard.

According to news.com.au, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will conduct the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey based on the details of active voters on the electoral roll.

If Australians want their views on same-sex marriage to be known, they must be registered.

It's a small gesture, but Hemsworth is doing his part to ignite change.

Hemsworth boasts 11.2 million followers, and many of them are Australians. That's a lot of people who can help spearhead the march toward marriage equality.

The actor knows each and every person is important in this fight for same-sex marriage.

70 percent of Australians support marriage equality, yet legalizing it continues to be an ongoing discussion in the country.

As Hemsworth noted, it's up to voters to push this issue forward.
