The Golden Globes have a reputation as a bit boring — the conservative little sister of the more glamorous Oscars.

Until now.

From over-the-top huge hair to the darkest lips imaginable, the stars brought their SUPER EXTRA beauty game to the 2017 Golden Globes red carpet. Was it excessive? Yes. Do you really need to see it all, up close and personal? Absolutely, yes.

Tracee Ellis Ross ended the entire world with flawless red lips, and enough diamonds to sink a pirate ship.

"Her look is glowing skin with a full brow and a bold lip to finish it," said Tracee's makeup artist, Jamie Greenberg, who custom mixed that AMAZING warm red lipstick out of two shades of L'Oreal Infallible Lip Paints ($10 each, Ulta) — Orange Envy and DIY Red.

And OF COURSE I had to include this photo of those rings, because DAMN GIRL.

I'm obsessed with this pop of pale blue in the corners of Diane Kruger's smoky eyes.

THIS is how you do blue.

Janelle Monae rocked the most glittery look of the night.

This is a '60s-inspired, gem-studded updo, paired with a subtle winged liner, PLUS GLITTER UNDER THE EYES. This is, as Tim Gunn would say, A Lot Of Look — and she's slaying.

And as a bonus, Monae's manicure — Monaeicure? — was easily the best.

This is some glamorous "Beetlejuice" magic right here.

Emma Stone's lewk was pastel peach perfection.

That silvery sparkle at the inner corners, though. Forget it.

I am LIVING for Kerry Washington's royal purple lip.

To get this color in your own life, makeup artist Carola Gonzales layered Neutrogena’s MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Deep Plum ($9, Ulta) over Dolce & Gabbana Lipstick in Glam 335 (Saks, $36).

Priyanka Chopra's blackened raspberry lips were a goth spring dream.

Makeup artist Stephanie Brooke Barnes custom mixed this amazing deep raspberry lip color — she used equal parts Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour ($28, Sephora) in An Affair and Seduction.

Evan Rachel Wood paid tribute to David Bowie with this superb asymmetical updo.

I might have liked this with a BIT of a brighter lip, but at the same time I appreciate the restraint. It really makes her ash-gray hair the star.

And OMG, speaking of short hair: Kristen Wiig's pixie cut is 100% your reason for living today.

With that cat eye and those candy-pink lips! Twiggy realness!

Speaking of Twiggy: Drew Barrymore really WENT for that throwback look with massive hair, coral lips, and HUGE fake lashes.

Yes. Let's make huge lower lashes happen in 2017.

And Ruth Negga channeled Josephine Baker with sublime curls, blue smoky eyes, and peachy lips.

She is a literal dream. She's currently the darling of the fashion world, and my god does she deserve it.

Laverne Cox channelled Morticia Addams with wine-stained lips and glossy straight hair.

Morticia is a glamour icon — and so is Laverne. This is a stellar look on her.

And Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to Princess Leia with a perfectly disheveled fishtail braid crown.

Her smoky cerulean eye look was created with Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Sticks ($29 each, Sephora) in Charcoal, Moonlight, and Tuxedo.

Lily Collins' intense red lip was a dramatic complement to her romantic updo.

Braids and teasing and twists, OH MY! My teenage self would have been all over this for prom hair. That red lip, btw, is Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Souvenir ($32, Sephora).

And now let's all take a minute to drink in the perfection that is Angela Bassett.

Perfect skin, Perfect hair. Perfect smoky eyes. I love her.

Olivia Culpo's high-octane bronze eyes are the stuff dreams are made of.

L'Oreal celebrity makeup artist (and Beyonce BFF) Sir John was the man behind this look — he created that AMAZING highlight by mixing L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator ($13 each, L'Oreal) in shades Ice and Golden, then applying to her cheekbones, Cupid's bow, and down the bridge of her nose.

Viola Davis is the QUEEN of peachy cheeks and major lashes.

Chrissy Teigen joined the dark lip club with a glossy take on '90s burgundy.

I am obsessed with the way this deep red lip picks up the ruby accents in her dress and earrings.

Michelle Williams' super-sleek platinum pixie is the ultimate in Sugar Plum Fairy glamour.

That velvet choker is giving me "The Green Ribbon" vibes, so I'm obviously very into it.

And I have been ENDED by Chanel Iman's deconstructed bobby pin situation.

SO COOL.

Issa Rae's incredible hair, smoky brows, and bold lips won the night for me.

Though she rocked nude-pink lips at the ceremony, I kinda like this cherry-red after party situation a little better! Also, we need to talk about her dewy skin; she looks photoshopped IRL, and I covet whatever primer she's using.

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall — who was the most extra of them all?
