In March, right when stay-at-home orders went into effect, I started getting really into makeup. I had plenty of makeup before that, but most days I hurriedly put on mascara, blush, and highlighter before running out of my house to get to work on time. In March, when I had more time to myself in the mornings, I started playing with makeup more and more. My best friend and I sent each other tons of makeup videos on YouTube and even sent our own silly "makeup tutorials" to each other on Snapchat (yes, it was as dorky as it sounds). As I played with more and more makeup, one brand stuck out in my mind: HipDot.
HipDot is an indie beauty brand known for its collabs with people like Kesha, FacedByKareem, and drag queen Meatball, as well as its unique collections like Spongebob and Tapatio.
The very first HipDot palette I got was the Diamond Diva Palette (a collab with Meatball). Let me just tell you — this palette is a rainbow DREAM. With five glitter shades and 10 super-smooth matte shades, you can make any colorful look you set your mind to. Every single time I dip into this palette, I'm so impressed by the color payoff and blendability.
Plus, all of HipDot's makeup is cruelty free, vegan, talc free, paraben free, phthalate free, and mineral oil free, which means they're comfortable to wear and don't cause irritation. Plus, you can feel good about the planet when you buy their products!
While I haven't tried every product in the HipDot arsenal (yet), I've loved every single item I've tried. I even wore the Witchy Warms palette for my recent engagement photo shoot — the warm-toned neutrals are perfect for fall.
And I haven't even mentioned the prices yet! For such incredible quality, these palettes are very affordable. The four-pan mini palettes are $10, the six-pan palettes are $14, the nine-pan palettes are $22–$24, and the larger palettes range from $26–$36. There are also tons of bundles available for even more cost savings.
