Kylie Jenner's makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, has been hated on pretty hard since it launched last year. People have called the products average, with an over-inflated price tag, all designed to capitalize on Kylizzle's 15 minutes of fame. It's an overhyped vanity project, essentially, with a celebrity name slapped on it.

And nobody has hated on Kylie's line harder than YouTuber (and beauty industry lightning rod) Jeffree Star.

Back in April, Star SAVAGED Kylie Cosmetics for their shitty quality, after receiving brand new lip glosses that looked like this...

In a series of tweets lambasting Jenner's makeup line — and her work ethic — he basically said that she should have more respect for her fans than taking their money and giving them crappy quality products in return.

His tweets caused a firestorm online, singlehandedly forcing Kylie Cosmetics to issue refunds and exchanges to everyone who bought the "defective" glosses.

Say what you will about Jeffree, but he LOVES makeup and does not fuck around when it comes to quality. As far as I can tell, his reviews are honest, and he doesn't pull punches with his opinions.

But he's saved his most shocking opinions for his latest video, a review of Kylie Cosmetics' brand new Burgundy palette.

The 14-minute magnum opus takes you through every step of a VERY detailed look, which Jeffree creates entirely with this new release.

Star began by swatching every shade in the palette, and was audibly surprised by how rich, pigmented, and pretty each color is.

"She really upped the quality," he said. "This is BANGING."

He applied Beach as a transition shade along the crease of his eye, down onto the lid.

"Right away, just from blending it — it's GOOD," he said. "It blended really quick and amazing."

Next, he used Penny along the crease of his eye.

He didn't say anything specifically about this color, but it looked like it blended easily without much fallout. So no news is good news, I guess.

He then packed Dubai, the metallic burgundy shade, all over his eyelid.

"I don't know if I'm going to wet the brush with [MAC] Fix Plus yet," said Star, referring to the mixing medium often used to make powdery shadows more pigmented. "It might not need it."

Even Star was impressed at how opaque and dense this shade was — packed on with a dry brush, no less.

"A lot of the time with these colors, there's a lot of fallout because of the shade and the pigment," he said, clearly surprised. "But this is pretty good, you guys. My cheeks are NOT dusted. The lids are looking rusty, and I LOVE IT."

But it was shade LA that REALLY sold Jeffree on the palette.

"YES! Shoutout Calabasas, what's up Los Angeles, I love the shade name," he gushed, before packing the bronze-y colour onto the inner corners of his eyes with a dry brush.

"[LA] feels REALLY creamy already on the brush, it feels really nice," he said. "It's blending into the other shadows pretty great!"

As he added shade Almond to blend, he gave his thoughts on the Burgundy palette as a whole.

"I love these, because the last [palette] had a lot of kickback. It was a little more powdery. This one [the Burgundy palette] is a little more fine-tuned, and the formula... is better. The last palette was fine — there were a lot of mixed reviews, I think a lot of people WANT to hate something — but I am LOVING how these are blending."

Next, Jeffree ran shade Burgundy — "The star of the palette!" — under his lower lashline, and was immediately like "OH WOW."

"Already, this is REALLY creamy," he said. "And when I say smooth, this glides on. And shockingly enough, usually there's a lot of red fallout, but it's PRETTY GOOD.

You can't deny that the color payoff with this shade is pretty amazing.

"I want this red to live and breathe and die," Star said. "I LOVE how it looks!"

Finally, he applied Naked under his brow to highlight.

"It's a beige type of color," he explained. "Hopefully it's not too dark for my skin tone. I just want a little shimmer. Now, I'm so used to putting stark white below my brow, but I actually don't mind this. It looks cool. I'm feeling the FALL FANTASY."

He finished his ~lewk~ with nude lipstick, liner, fake lashes, and cotton candy hair — and gave us his final Kylie Cosmetics verdict.

"This palette is GREAT," he enthused.  "I know people are gonna want to hate... but it blended amazing. The formula was great. I think the only shadow I wasn't obsessed with was [Naked]. It's a little more sheer than the rest — it's not a negative, but I like really RICH pigments."

"I think that [Kylie Jenner] really improved the formula from the last palette," Star said. "I think that this one is BETTER."

"It's awesome that she's working on formulas, improving everything. I'm definitely going to be using this a lot — I think this is really stunning."

And there you have it — Kylie Cosmetics has gotten a RAVE review from Jeffree Star, one of their earliest haters.

You can watch his entire video — and ogle his beautiful red and orange look — here.

Does Jeffree's review make you want to try Kylie's new Kyshadow palette?

I'm still on the fence about her line — I REALLY HATE how her liquid lipsticks smell! — but he's kind of selling me on this red shadow. Tell me how YOU feel in the comments, or on Facebook!
