LIPSTICK: THE FINAL FRONTIER.

I'm a lifelong Star Trek nerd, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

(Yeah, women can be obsessed with makeup AND science fiction. I know that's still shocking for some people, but here I am.)

So when I heard that MAC Cosmetics was gearing up to drop a Star Trek collection to celebrate the series' 50th anniversary, I completely lost my mind. Two of my favorite things, together at last? These isn't just relevant to my interests, these ARE my interests.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present your FIRST COMPLETE LOOK at the MAC x Star Trek collection: the beauty story I have literally waited my entire life to write.

And here it is: MAC Cosmetics' Star Trek collection, arranged neatly by a total weirdo.

The packaging is superb: sleek matte black, with the iconic Starfleet command insignia imprinted in super-shiny silver.

Sometimes these collabs can get a little crazy with the packaging; I love that this stays true to both MAC's design, and the design of Star Trek.

Even the inside of the packaging is cool!

Shinier than Riker's Sunday unitard.

But you're here to get a look at the makeup, right? Let's begin with the three brand new Trip The Light Fantastic pressed powders.

LOOK AT HOW GORGEOUS THESE ARE CLOSE UP!

These powders likely have a lot of applications; I can't wait to use them as extremely glittery highlighters.

II: Strange New Worlds
III: Highly Illogical

Next, we move into the pressed pigments, which are also OMG SO SPARKLY.

L-R: Midnight and Bird of Prey.

The beauty of MAC's pigments is that they can be used wet or dry, so I swatched them both ways for you!

I: Midnight, dry
II: Midnight, wet
III: Bird of Prey, dry
IV: Bird of Prey, wet

Overall, I found Midnight a bit tricky to work with (wet or dry) — it was kind of dry and hard to get an intense color. But oh, WHAT a color when you do! Bird of Prey was more consistent, but less spectacular. I'm definitely into it for a kind of olive green smoky eye, though.

And how do you feel about glittery lip glosses?!

These babies (which reduced me to near-tears with their beauty) are L-R: Warp Speed Ahead, Set to Stun, Khaaaaaan!, and Pleasure Planet.

LOOK AT THIS SPARKLE!

This is Warp Speed ahead, and at the macro-ish level, you can really see the purple, pink, and blue glitter that has gone into this gloss.

And here are the swatches, because OBVIOUSLY.

II: Set to Stun
III: Khaaaaaan!
IV: Pleasure Planet

All of these glosses are really gorgeous — light and relatively non-sticky, with the signature MAC vanilla scent. My favorite is Warp Speed Ahead because I'm a fool for berry glitter, KHAAAAAAAN! is the most fun to say, while Set to Stun and Pleasure Planet are best layered over other colors.

Did you think we were done? Because we also have freaking STAR TREK LIPSTICKS.

L-R: Where No Man Has Gone Before, LLAP, The Enemy Within, and Kling-It-On.

All four shades are either shimmery or sparkly, so I hope you're ready to glitter harder than Lwaxana Troi.

This is a close up of Kling-It-On, which is definitely my favorite shade.

And here are the swatches.

III: LLAP
IV: Kling-It-On
I think that Where No Man... and LLAP (which stands for "Live long and prosper") are going to be the big-sellers of this collection; they're both really gorgeous, sheer frosts that will look good on everyone. But I really hope that Kling-It-On, or at least it's sparkly sheer formula, becomes a permanent part of the MAC family; you almost never find a dark, sparkly lipstick that is THIS comfortable to wear.

And last — but by no means least — we have the Star Trek-themed Super Slick Liquid Eyeliner.

L-R: Nocturnal (pearly silver), On The Hunt (black), and Pure Show (glittery gold).

And here are the swatches.

Guys, I need to tell you: at first I was really "eh" about this formula: it goes on really wet, and didn't seem like it was going to dry immediately. I was wrong; this liner is SO SUPREME. Not only are these colors beautiful — that gold is a heart-stopper — but they last like nothing else. Seriously; I tried to get these off with soap and water and summer-in-New-York sweat, and couldn't do it (an oil-based cleanser will remove them). I love them so much.

All of these gorgeous products are available September 1 at counters and via the MAC website, and if you're at San Diego ComicCon, you can check out the collection starting July 21!

You can also sign up so that you're first to hear when this collection drops.

Live long and prosper, my makeup loving friends.
