Lili Reinhart isn't taking any breaks in between seasons of the widely popular CW series Riverdale

The young actor just finished up filming her upcoming star-studded movie Hustlers, set to release on her 23rd birthday (September 13, 2019), and Riverdale season three just came to a close. This week she announced her next project, her title for which will add a line to her already stacked skill list — executive producer.

Fans of the Riverdale-turned-real-life couple nicknamed Bughead shudder to think of Reinhart with anyone other than the supremely adorable Cole Sprouse a.k.a. Jughead Jones. So her newest project will be a stark difference from what they're used to seeing.

Of course, Sprouse already had a different on-screen love interest in Haley Lu Richardson in his feature film debut Five Feet Apart, but luckily Bughead shippers caught a glimpse of some adorable PDA at the premiere

Not only is Reinhart starring in the new Amazon coming-of-age movie, but she is listed as an executive producer as well.

The 22-year-old actor is taking a role behind-the-scenes for the first time in the movie adaptation of the Young Adult novel Our Chemical Hearts. The two other producers of the film are indie movie alumns Alex Saks (The Florida Project) and Jamin O’Brien (Eighth Grade). Production for the movie is already underway with filming taking place in New Jersey.

Aside from her starring role on The CW's Riverdale, Reinhart was also seen in Galveston with Elle Fanning and Ben Foster earlier this year at SXSW. Next she'll star in Hustlers with Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Cardi B, Lizzo, and Keke Palmer.

The movie is a recreation of Krystal Sutherland's coming-of-age young adult romance novel.

Author of the novel Krystal Sutherland shared the news to her Twitter, "BREAKING NEWS ALERT The wonderful @lilireinhart is playing Grace Town in the movie adaptation of #ChemicalHearts - and the project is ALREADY SHOOTING in New Jersey! Guys, this movie is going to be BEAUTIFUL."

Reinhart's character in the book, Grace Town, walks with a cane, but it has not been revealed if that part of the role will be featured in the upcoming movie. The production team did, however, work with RespectAbility, a non-profit that ensures the accurate portrayal of people and characters with disabilities in the media.

Starring alongside Reinhart is Austin Abrams from HBO's Euphoria and Paper Towns (2015).

Taking on the romantic male lead is Austin Abrams, who was first seen in the coming-of-age romance with Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff in the adaptation of John Greene's Paper Towns. Abrams will play Henry Page, a high schooler who has never been in love and is searching for that once-in-a-lifetime romance. On the first day of his senior year he meets transfer student Grace Town (Lili Reinhart) and everything changes.

Abrams has most recently been spotted in the heady controversial teen drama starring Zendaya on HBO, Euphoria

I'm sure Abrams is well-suited for the romantic lead, but his blonde tousled hair is reminiscent of another Reinhart love interest, Cole Sprouse. Bughead fans would have gone wild at a movie romance between the Riverdale and IRL couple.

Take a moment to appreciate the love between Reinhart and Sprouse in this adorable Instagram post.

It's not that we don't want Reinhart to branch out and take part in awesome new roles, it's just heartbreaking to imagine her with anyone other than Sprouse. The two are just too cute of a couple, and Riverdale fans will always see them as Betty and Jug first and foremost.

The two are notoriously private in their relationship, so fans have to feed off these few and far between posts. Like this one from Valentine's Day that read, "You make me very happy. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love."

The upside? Sprouse will be the perfect arm candy to Reinhart at the premiere of the Chemical Hearts movie.

Reinhart was the epitome of support during his premiere of Five Feet Apart earlier this year. The two also hung out with Sprouse's costar Haley Lu Richardson and her fiancé, Jane the Virgin star Brett Dier.

"I am so in awe of @colesprouse and @haleyluhoo for their work in this film. The last few days have been hard on all of us... and this film touches you in a way that makes you feel incredibly grateful to be with the people you love. I can’t express enough how moved I was by @fivefeetapartfilm — I can’t wait for the world to see it," Reinhart wrote to her Instagram.

Next it's Sprouse's turn to be the arm candy at her premieres for Hustlers and Chemical Hearts.

Nevertheless, Bughead stans will have to wait for season four to get their shipping fix.

Season three of Riverdale ended with a bit of a shock for Jughead fans — his beanie was ominously tossed into a fire after Betty warned Archie and Veronica to never speak of some unknown atrocity again. Riverdale creator, Roberto Aguierre-Sacasa has said, however, that he wants to show more scenes involving the core four, so fingers crossed we get even more Bughead content.

Season four is set to premiere this fall, likely in October.

That being said, Reinhart is making money moves and definitely doesn't need a relationship to define her.

The most important thing to remember is that Reinhart is a boss and working towards her dreams. This executive producer role is just another step forward in her career goals. Plus she has an adorable relationship to match, so you could say her life is going pretty great right now. Keep your eyes glued to the screens because Reinhart isn't going anywhere.
