You've got to hand it to Taylor Swift: Love her or hate her, she knows how to get people talking. And that's exactly what she did with the music video for her newest single "...Ready For It?" from her upcoming album, "reputation."

Like all her music videos, "...Ready For It?" is filled with tons of hidden subtext and not-so-subtle clues. In this case, it seems like T.Swift is finally embracing her inner witch.

The music video features two very different Taylors.

One's a naked version kept in a glass box (who is apparently either magic or a robot), the other is Evil Taylor, decked out in a black cloak and heavy eyeliner, keeping NakedMagicRobotTaylor trapped in her cage.

NakedMagicRobot Taylor does eventually escape from her cage after a couple of failed attempts.

Seriously, she conjures a horse at one point, which seems a little useless in an attempt to leave a magic box.

However, the bursts of lightening she creates kill Evil Taylor, revealing her to be a robot, too? Maybe.

One thing's for sure: The video is filled with witch imagery. Someone's been watching "The Craft" on repeat lately.

(OK, fine, it's Taylor, it's probably "Hocus Pocus" she's been watching on repeat.)

This could also be a still from a live-action "Sailor Moon" movie, TBH.

Look at that hooded black cape. This is totally what Taylor thinks witches look like.

This could also be a decent last-minute Halloween costume idea.

While there seems to be a lot of hints that Naked Taylor is robotic, the way she summons giant orbs of light and powerful lightening seems to suggest magic, not science, is afoot.

Siri and Alexa can do a lot for me, but have they ever summoned a giant glowing ball that can shatter walls?! No, they have not.

And the most overt reference of all? Peep that graffiti. "They're burning all the witches." (While Evil Taylor is being burned, mind you.)

In this case, you have to wonder if Taylor is the witch being burned by everyone IRL, or if she's the one doing the burning of the witches.

Luckily, Taylor Swift likes to reward fans who make good guesses about her work, which seems to confirm she's the witch getting burned.

She's been hard at work liking posts on Tumblr, which include plenty of speculation. She's approved the idea that the media is the one doing the burning, and she's the witch at the stake.

She also appears to confirm the idea that Naked Taylor is the real her, while Evil Witch Taylor is her media persona holding her captive. So she's both a witch who's getting burned and most definitely not the witch? OK, whatever.

There's a lot more theories where that came from.

Taylor Swift fans are the most dedicated sleuths I've ever seen. Set these kids on the JFK files, stat.

Either way, fans LOVED Swift embracing her inner witch.

I think we'd all prefer Taylor if she let out her dark side and did the whole witch alter ego thing more often.

Just in time for Halloween!

The whole "the media is the real villain!" thing is pretty played out and exhausting at this point, TBH, but I can appreciate what she's trying to do here. Especially if she's acknowledging that the inner her really is a little bit of a witch (in the stereotypical sense of the word)... with a lot of power.
