"The Mandalorian" The Child

Baby Yoda aka The Child from The Mandalorian literally took over the internet in 2019 with a slew of memes, makeup looks, and merch. And it appears Disney is still capitalizing on its cutest character of the decade.

At a convention, the CEO of Build-A-Bear Workshop announced that Baby Yoda would soon be part of its lineup. The toy shop already has some Star Wars characters available to put together, but Baby Yoda will no doubt be their most popular yet.

Be warned if you're bringing kids: Baby Yoda has fans of all ages, and die-hard Baby Yoda stans on Twitter are already preparing for battle when the plushie launches at Build-A-Bear.

Business Insider shared the first photo of the new toy at a convention.

From this somewhat blurry photograph, it appears that the new Baby Yoda toy is a close replica of the on-screen character. Build-A-Bear capitalizes on the joy of bringing a toy to life, with lifelike heartbeats, noisemakers, and accessories. Maybe a line of new Baby Yoda accessories (a frog, perhaps?) will also be released.

Fans of The Child from The Mandalorian span all ages, but perhaps we should leave the Build-A-Bear to the kids.

Die-hard fans of the adorable character are already warning the younger crowd who frequents the toy store that they mean business.

One Baby Yoda fan account wrote a facetiously hostile tweet, "Baby Yoda Build-A-Bear is SPECIFICALLY for me and if your child gets in my way I SWEAR TO GOD I will turn that store into a real life hockey rink. No one is safe from my body slams and cross checks."

If you wanted the real Baby Yoda puppet, you'd need $5 million on hand.

According to IGN, the original Baby Yoda puppet costs $5 million. Director Jon Favreau instructed one of his actors to "punch" the puppet in a scene.

The actor Adam Pally said, "I remember the first take that I did when I punched him, they called ‘Cut!’ and Jon, who was watching on a monitor in his office, he came down from this office and said, ‘I just want to let you know that this is the hero Yoda and it costs, like, $5 million. So while I want you to hit it, I just want you to know that.’ Because I think I took a big swing at it. And the next three takes I missed because I was so nervous.”

Luckily there are plenty of Baby Yoda replicas around, now.

Disney has certainly capitalized on the cuteness of its newest popular character. There are plenty of toys, plushies, and more merchandise for fans of the sweet alien. But the Build-A-Bear will be the first of its kind.

If Baby Yoda isn't your thing, there are other really cute Star Wars characters at Build-A-Bear.

There are tons of outfits and accessories fit for a Jedi. Plus, there's a new animal based on the porgs, the bird-like creatures that inhabit the island where Rey finds Luke Skywalker. So Baby Yoda won't be the only supercute creature to put together at the shop.
