Botox — that much-loved and much-maligned injectable filler. While most people know that it makes your fine lines disappear, Botox is also FDA-approved to treat other health conditions, including hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. National treasure Chrissy Teigen just got Botox injected into her armpits to curb her active sweat glads — and she filmed the entire thing, because of course she did.

Teigen handles the procedure like a champ.

Getting any type of injection is not the most comfortable experience — especially in the armpits, which is comprised of thinner skin. It's consistently named as one of the most painful tattoo areas on the body. But Teigen had nothing to worry about: On Twitter, she told a fan that it "truly didn't hurt at all."

Apparently, she can wear silk again!

The only thing Teigen loves more than food is sharing her life on social media, so of course, she took us straight to her dermatologist's office for the procedure. "BOTOXED MY ARMPITS. TRULY THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE," she captioned the image, adding that she can "wear silk again."

Teigen's silk pieces are definitely saying, "Hallelujah!"

Wearing silk is equal parts luxurious and practical, since it's so cooling. But silk is also a real pain to keep clean, because the delicate fabric can rip in traditional washing machines and silk dyes often bleed. Most people resort to hand-washing their silk, but that takes forever and can also shrink the fabric if not done carefully (my beloved Rodarte x Opening Ceremony blouse was sadly ruined this way). Not needing to hand-wash her sweaty silks means that Teigen can devote more time to picnics with her adorable kiddos. Not to mention that when you don't sweat, underarm smell is a thing of the past.

Botox treats a lot of medical conditions totally unrelated to crow's feet.

Botox is FDA-approved to treat a whole host of other medical issues. The list includes chronic migraines, severe neck muscle spasms, eye twitching and lazy eye, and urinary incontinence. Off-label, Botox also treats TMJ-related pain, which is something I've seriously considered for my aching jaws. As Teigen demonstrates, it can also plug those pesky sweat glands in your pits, keeping them dry and stink-free.

Wait, but don't humans need to sweat?

feels off-brand but going for it

Yes, humans really need to sweat! The sweating process cools down the body and helps maintain a normal body temperature; without that basic biological function, we'd all overheat in the sun. And when you get Botox in your armpits, other sweat glands distributed throughout the body pick up that extra slack. Anecdotally, people who've gotten the procedure say that sweat increases in areas like the scalp, back, and underboob.

Still, for people who have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis, that may be a small price to pay for having normal armpits!

Dr. Diamond performed Teigen's procedure.

Dr. Jason Diamond is one of Hollywood's plastic surgeons to the stars. The board-certified physician has appeared on Dr. 90210, and went to medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Other celeb clients include Sofia Richie (pictures above), Meagan Good, and Larsa Pippen.

Armpit Botox doesn't come cheap.

According to Chatelaine, the procedure could run you up to $1,000, because a full tube of Botox is needed to plug the sweat glands. Those suffering from diagnosed hyperhidrosis *may* be able to get the procedure covered by insurance, but always check with your health insurance company and primary care physician first.
