After making history as the second woman to win three gold medals at World Championships, you would think Allyson Felix wouldn't have much to feel insecure about. But when the American track and field sprint athlete came in second (twice) in her career, Felix felt the pangs of failure looming over her. 

When she was her own worst critic, it was her mother who became the real champion. She comforted, consoled, and most importantly inspired her to press on. While Felix may have a ways to go on the road to Rio, her mom will make sure she never forgets what a true champion she already is.
