Kim Kardashian can't catch a break. After receiving widespread criticism for posing as Jackie Onassis for "Interview," fans are calling her out for channeling Cher on the cover of "Harper's Bazaar Arabia." However, her reason for portraying Cher is actually quite simple.

Kardashian has been a Cher devotee for years; the two megastars are both Armenian and contribute to the same charitable causes.

Kardashian has been repping Cher's super long, dark hairstyle for a minute (as have her sisters) and the two even appeared on the red carpet together for the premiere of "The Promise," a film about the Armenian genocide. It's really no surprise that Kardashian, who has been a Cher stan for a while, was down to portray the iconic singer for her latest magazine cover.

When Kardashian shared images of the shoot on Twitter, some loved it.

One fan even made an illustration of the cover.

Others insisted that Kardashian and Cher MUST be related.

Although the shoot had mostly positive reception, some criticized Kardashian's homage, saying she had "no originality."

People used GIFs to show their disapproval.

Really, people. Really?

Cher sets the bar high for anyone trying to dupe her style, to be sure.

Sigh.

Some even called Kardashian a "poser" for portraying so many iconic figures.

After posing as Jackie Onassis and Cher, one fan asked if Kardashian would portray her.

These fans are REALLY doing the most.

Instagram commenters had reallyyyy harsh opinions as well.

"Never will you amount to .001% of what Cher has contributed in her life to the well being of society. [T]o use her as 'icon' for your disgusting acts and self centeredness is a shame on her name. Cher is queen...you are just a lowly subject who has money bc your family sold your soul to the media," one commenter said.

Wow, is all we can say...

In spite of the hate, Kardashian had a very simple reason to explain why she loves portraying Cher so much.

She admires Cher's risk-taking style — and her long black hair, of course. “She’s always had the sickest style, I’m obsessed with her,” Kim told "Harper's Bazaar Arabia." “To think that she was wearing these sheer dresses in the ’70s and just what people must have thought back then.”

Regardless of the hate, it's actually cool to see Kardashian portray Cher, and to hear the inspiration behind her recent waist-length tresses.
