An Instagram page has brought the phrase "art imitates life" to a new level. The page features modern style icons next to classic art images, and honestly, the similarities are amazing.

The page, Art History Fashion, features celebrities like Lady Gaga and Rihanna next to various works of art.

Some are staged while others are purely coincidental, but the overall result is pretty eye-opening.

Rihanna's controversial "Vogue Arabia" cover also makes an appearance.

From the pose to the gown, Rihanna's image looks just like the painting!

The page also highlights how couture at times pulls from ancient sources.
