Fashion in 2017 has been insane, to say the least. There's been Slenderman jackets. There's been high-heeled roller skates. And if THAT wasn't enough, Balenciaga has just dropped high-fashion platform Crocs.

No, that wasn't a typo.

These are super-fancy Balenciaga Crocs. I'm convinced everyone will trip in them.

The brand dropped the foam 10-centimeter platforms for its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, and I have no words. Of all the things to pay homage to: Crocs? Seriously? I'd hoped we would've left these shoes in 2007, but they're back like an evil twin who just won't die.

The ONLY redeemable quality about the original Crocs was that they were (allegedly) comfortable and functional. I have no idea what the Balenciaga version is trying to achieve, other than breaking ankles and hurting my feelings.

Understandably, people on Twitter were concerned.

Others gave them a HARD PASS.

"When you thought 2017 couldn't get any worse." Ugh, SAME.

When Crocs shared the Balenciaga version on its Instagram page, users had a lot of thoughts, too.

"This is just flat out an insult to fashion," one said. But some liked the shoes and said they'll incorporate them into their evening wear. "I will be wearing these to prom," a follower said. Another user had a wise way to save up for the designer Crocs. "If we split it, I'll wear a foot and you wear the other," a user commented.

"In the future everyone wears crocs," a user said, in probably the most prophetic statement I've ever heard about the shoes. But if these shoes are 3017, I'm happy in 2017.

Platform Crocs are definitely not for me, but odds are, they're for somebody!

The price of the platforms from hell is still unknown, but like most luxury Balenciaga footwear, these definitely won't be cheap.

At the end of the day, it's your money. If you decide to spend hundreds (possibly even thousands) of dollars on platform Crocs, by all means, proceed.

But if you trip, just know you probably had it coming.
