As you probably already know, there's a Riverdale spinoff in the works on The CW called Katy Keene. The musical dramedy is also based on iconic Archie Comics characters, and now it has its first cast member: Ashleigh Murray.

Murray is packing up her Pussycat ears, as her Riverdale character Josie McCoy makes her way to the big city for a lead role in the Katy Keene pilot. There's no word yet on what this means for Josie in the Riverdale world, but if the pilot takes off, there's a good chance she'll be saying goodbye to her high school friends in lieu of bigger things.

At the end of January, Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced that another character from the Archie Comics realm is getting their own show.

The CW ordered a pilot for a new musical dramedy called Katy Keene, based on the memorable comic of the same name.

Katy Keene will follow her and three of her friends as they follow their artistic dreams in New York City.

The group of friends are all also considered "iconic Archie Comics characters" and are aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway in both fashion and music.

While we don't know yet who will play Katy Keene, we do know that Murray's Riverdale character, Josie McCoy, will be one of her friends!

In the new show, Josie decides to leave Riverdale and move to New York City in attempts at making her dreams of musical stardom a reality. Look at our queen making moves!

According to Variety, "More determined than ever to break into the music scene as the next Diana Ross, Josie finds herself forging new friendships, falling into new relationships, and, one day, becoming the star she is destined to be."

Katy Keene is set about five years in the future, so Josie will be in her early twenties in the show. So, she's not ditching high school or anything — at least not to our knowledge.

We're screaming "congratulations!" to Murray, who definitely deserves this new venture!

We are so ready to see her shine as a lead character on this new show! If we're being honest, there are never enough Josie moments on Riverdale.

Many fans have felt that, for quite some time now, Murray hasn't had her fair share of screen time on Riverdale.

"She truly deserves this after being sidelined for YEARS," one person wrote on Twitter. This sentiment was echoed by many fans in Murray's mentions.

And although her Riverdale costars will miss her dearly, they couldn't be more proud of their girl.

Madelaine Petsch is especially excited for Murray, and let her know multiple times on Instagram. Camila Mendes, Skeet Ulrich, Hayley Law, Marisol Nichols, Vanessa Morgan, Mark Consuelos, Lochlyn Munro, Mädchen Amick, and more have all sent her loving messages as well.

Now we must wait to see if the show gets picked up for a first season.

The CW has only ordered a pilot thus far. According to Variety, should the project get picked up and made into a series, Murray would leave Riverdale.

What is Riverdale without Josie, though?

Who will perform at La Bonne Nuit? Who will help Archie with his music? How will they handle her departure? We have so many questions.

Some fans pointed out that this news is a little bit of a spoiler.

Now we know for sure of one person who definitely will not die on Riverdale. Although, that's totally fine by us!

Regardless, we are so incredibly happy for Murray!

Long live Josie McCoy! Long live the Pussycats!

Anyways, we're already counting down the days until the Katy Keene pilot airs.

Though we still have no idea when that will be. Or who will be in it. Or literally anything else about it yet.

While we wait, we still have the fourth season of Riverdale to look forward to.

The show was just renewed for a fourth season by The CW, but we still have about half of season three to go!

Let's just enjoy Josie on Riverdale while we still can, you guys.

BTW, what happened to the rest of the Pussycats? I'm still waiting for answers.
