Baby Yoda has been the breakout meme star of 2019. There's been Baby Yoda tattoos, makeup looks and tutorials, and now merchandise. But Baby Yoda toys have been slow to make it to market. Delish explains that it may be because Disney wanted to keep the character a secret, or because Disney had no idea how popular Baby Yoda would become. However, now you can preorder this adorable Baby Yoda plushie for $24.99 ... but there's a huge catch. It won't be available for the 2019 holiday season, or even before winter is over.

The toy won't ship until April 2020.

That's right, April 2020. If you place your order from Target today, your Baby Yoda plushie won't ship for another four months. If that seems like an unreasonably long wait, that's because it is! The fans are obsessed with Baby Yoda now. Why must we wait so long to hug our own Force-sensitive green dude?

It's so cute, though!

Look at this toy! It's so freaking cute, my maternal instincts are going haywire. I want to cuddle this toy and put it to sleep in a crib and feed it from a sippy cup and teach it how to move things with its mind. I want a little toy lightsaber for its tiny hands to pretend to defend the Republic against the Sith.

You can also preorder from Walmart!

This Baby Yoda plush toy, which is a slightly different design, is available for presale at Walmart. But this little guy won't be available to ship until May 2020, at which time you'll have forgotten that you ordered it. And when it arrives, it will feel like the holidays all over again.

Baby Yoda figurines are also on pre-pre-presale!

If plush toys aren't your thing, for $15.99, you can get this two-piece Baby Yoda figurine set. It features Baby Yoda drinking from his soup bowl and sleeping in a swaddle blanket. There are six figurines in all, and all of them ship in May 2020. Maybe we'll have them in time for Star Wars Day — May 4, as in, "May the Force be with you."
