From the moment "Riverdale" co-stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart appeared together onscreen, fans have speculated that the pair might have a "thing" going on IRL.
Unfortunately for #Sprousehart shippers, neither Sprouse nor Reinhart have publicly confirmed their relationship.
However, that doesn't mean the couple — er, non-couple — haven't dropped a hint or two about their rumored offscreen romance.
Here are 13 times Sprouse and Reinhart have alluded to a relationship (without actually giving fans the answer they're looking for).
There was that time they not-so-subtly held hands on a magazine cover.
To promote the newest season of "Riverdale," the lead cast posed together on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
In the photo, Sprouse and Reinhart slyly grabbed each other's hands.
Coincidence? Fans thought not.
That time Reinhart blasted a fan for touching Sprouse.
While the cast was out together in Vancouver, a fan tried to approach Sprouse and give him a hug. When he ignored her, the fan immediately took to social media to slam Sprouse.
The stranger's unwarranted approach (and following Twitter rant) did not sit well with Reinhart, who quickly jumped on Twitter to defend Sprouse.
Seeing Reinhart passionately defend "her man" gave fans all ~the feels.~
That time Sprouse admitted he's "flattered" by the relationship speculation (but didn't shut the rumors down).
In November, People magazine gave Sprouse an opportunity to put the relationship rumors to rest once and for all.
Sprouse, however, admitted the endless speculation was a "badge of honor" and refused to confirm or deny if he's dating Reinhart.
"Lili and I are constantly talked about in the public eye, and for me I think that it is being deeply informed by the love of the characters and wanting to see us together," Sprouse insisted to People. "In many ways it’s offensive and an invasion of privacy, but it’s also a badge of honor because it means you’re creating a chemistry onscreen that is so understandable that people want to see it in real life, which is flattering from a professional perspective.”
That time they wore matching makeup.
This past Halloween, Sprouse and Reinhart coyly sported matching makeup — or rather, a "couple's costume," according to Twitter.
That time Reinhart said she's "very comfortable" kissing Sprouse.
In October, Reinhart admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she's gotten "very comfortable" kissing Sprouse.
"When [Jughead and Betty] do get to see each other it is really romantic and passionate," Reinhart insisted. "I feel like it's very comfortable [kissing Sprouse] at this point."
She added, "It would be more nerve-wracking if you had to make out with someone that you didn't know. So if by chance we do end up having to kiss each other, it's fine and it doesn't feel weird."
That time Spouse had kisses with Reinhart written into his contract.
During an interview on "Live With Kelly and Ryan," Sprouse mentioned that he had demanded a certain number of "Bughead" makeout scenes when writers were drafting the script.
"I wrote it into my contract," he jokingly informed the audience.
Sprouse claimed he was kidding, but fans couldn't help but wonder if there was some truth to his cheeky "confession."
That time Reinhart tried to play it cool and claimed she wasn't starstruck by Sprouse when she first met him.
When W Magazine asked Reinhart about her first impression of Sprouse, Reinhart claimed she barely remembered their initial encounter.
"It's funny, I don’t really remember having an opinion on Cole, to be honest," Reinhart breezily remarked.
But fans saw right through Reinhart's dismissive response.
That time Reinhart got *very* protective over her private life.
In October, Reinhart went on a Tumblr rant about fans who are way too invested in her love life.
But rather than silence the gossip, fans started questioning what Reinhart was trying to hide.
