So many plus-size characters have an arc that focuses solely on their weight *cough* "This is Us" *cough* ... but over the show's seven-season run, Donna's weight was not mentioned negatively even once.
In fact, Donna loved the shit out of herself.
She was confident, and fearlessly so.
I mean, could someone with insecurities say this without batting an eyelash?
"... If I had an hour alone with Robert Pattinson, he would forget all about Skinnylegs McGee. I’ll tell you that much.”No. No they could not.
Even cooler, Donna was sexual AF. And whenever she wanted it, she got it.
Not just when she was "skinnier," not when she was wearing clothes that were "flattering" ... whenever. she. wanted it.
Considering what we usually see on television, watching someone who was unapologetically plus size be capable of landing (or dismissing) any man she chose was like coming in contact with a unicorn.
Her "fatness" never prevented her from living the life she wanted.
Plus, she dressed to kill.
And heaven HELP the person who tried to shame her in any way.
Looking back, Donna Meagle really was the EXACT human plus-size women needed to see on TV ...
Now we just need a Donna Meagle-type as a leading lady.
