Fans of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" already knew Netflix was blessing them with a holiday special, dubbed "A Midwinter's Tale." But they didn't quite know what they were in store for. Now, Netflix has released a trailer for "A Midwinter's Tale" a week before its release, and let's just say, it looks anything but cheerful.
Earlier this week, Netflix announced that "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" will return for season two on April 5, 2019. That's not super far away, but hardcore fans can't fathom a four-month break. Fortunately, the Christmas special will keep them entertained while they wait.
We've seen a couple sneak peeks of the episode, so far, like a clip of Hilda and Sabrina prepping to "hunker down and watch their favorite Christmas movies." Plus, we know Mckenna Grace ("The Haunting of Hill House") will be playing a young Sabrina in some throwback scenes.
But now, Netflix dropped the full 60-second trailer and you can expect for things to get suitably darker and much more twisted. Sure, Santa makes an appearance, but so does Satan. So, take that as you will.
The Spellman Mortuary does look particularly magical in the snow, don't you think?
First of all, there's terrifying ghosts appearing in reflections.
And sneaking up behind people.
There's also creepy blinking dolls in a toy shop that I, for one, want no part of.
And whatever this person covered in candles and hot wax has going on doesn't seem pleasant.
Look at that little grin! My heart!
"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale" hits Netflix on December 14. Until then: cheers, witches.
