'Stranger Things' Season 3

It feels like Stranger Things season three just wrapped up, but it's already time to start thinking about season four.

The third season left fans with many questions and some heartbreak. There's plenty to analyze from the first teaser about what's to come in the fourth season, which is rumored to drop at the end of 2020.

If the first teaser from the upcoming season is any indication, then the lights are turning off on Hawkins and lighting up somewhere else. There's definitely some season three spoilers ahead, so if you're not all caught up, stop what you're doing and get to it!

Lights out, Hawkins!

The teaser opens up similarly to the previous three seasons, but then things turn to the dark side. Season four looks like it definitely takes place in the Upside Down and it definitely doesn't take place in Hawkins. The words, "We're Not In Hawkins Anymore" pop up on the screen at the chime of a doorbell. Of course, Will, Joyce, and Jonathan Byers have packed up, moved away, and adopted Eleven into their family.

Fans discovered a secret teaser from David Harbour and Brett Gelman.

David Harbour sneakily changed his profile picture to several different numbers, but a few fans caught on. It was the same phone number that Jonathan and Nancy used to call Murray Bauman (Gelman), and if you call the number in real life you'll get a voicemail from the character.

The season four clue might have something to do with Chief Hopper's fate at the end of the season. The cryptic message goes, "If this is Joyce — Joyce, thank you for calling. I've been trying to reach you. I have an update. It's about, well, it's probably best if we speak in person. It's not good or bad, but it's something."

The writers are hard at work completing the season. If previous episodes are any indication, then we're in for a dark and twisty ride.

The Stranger Things' writers room Twitter account also shared the teaser and a message about the coming season. They wrote, "It’s happening! We have an awesome team working on st4 and we can’t wait to share it with you. Thank you for your passion and your love for our show/ Let’s keep that curiosity door open, yeah? After all, we’re not in Hawkins anymore ..."

Fans are already analyzing every little bit of the teaser.

Other than the obvious lights out metaphor that seems to symbolize the Upside Down and where next season takes place, some fans found a few more hidden gems, too. One person thought they saw Hopper coming out of his cabin with a flashlight. While another spotted a clock in a tree at the righthand corner of the frame.

"THAT'S HOPPER WALKING DOWN THE CABIN STAIRS WITH A FLASHLIGHT," one person shared. And another replied, "And the clock in the tree."
